The Neumann KK 120 Figure 8 Capsule Head is intended for use with the Neumann KM D and KM A series modular output stages. The capsules pressure gradient transducer features a figure-8 characteristic, side-fire polar pattern. The single diaphragm measures 16mm and yields an identical frequency response and output levels at 0 and 180° sound incidence.

Great experience with new Neumann KM A and KK 120 Mic
I used the KK 120 Figure 8 Capsule in conjunction with the Neumann KM A output stage purchased at the same time, as part of a Mid/Side setup to record a String Quartet performance in a small hall. I was very pleased with the outcome. I used a cardioid for the Mid mike and recorded directly into a digital flash card recorder. After the concert I used a hardware decoder to convert the signal to stereo, thus gaving me the freedom to adjust the stereo image during the processing. Very pleased with the new microphone and looking forward to using it again for another concert in just a couple of weeks. I have two Neumann KM 131's that have given me great service and I look forward to the same from the new KM A and the KK120 which together make the KM A120 bidirectional microphone.
