The Movcam Mini Follow Focus MF-2 is a single-sided follow focus with a sliding base that accommodates different lens constructions.
The MF-2 quickly and securely mounts 15mm rods via a tightening mechanism controlled by a silver underside knob. A standard flexi-ring comes included for lenses that don't have ring teeth.
The gear drive is .8, and focus is achieved by constant damping that ensures precise focus. A focus scale helps measure focusing distances.

I own an Amira and I wanted a low-cost, smaller follow focus that was under $1k for some side rentals. This one hits the nail on the head. It's certainly a bit heavier than I expected, but heavier/robust is better than lighter/flimsy in this industry. It has zero backlash (so far).
This the design everybody is looking for, and I needed this style for one of my rigs to overcome a long gap caused by the distance between baseplate and rails. It's design makes it realtively simple to mount and unmount, but the trade-off is that it is extremely heavy and bulky, much more than it needs to be, which makes it require over-tightening all around. I was also dissapointed to discover it was manufactured in China, especially after waiting for over a month for it too arrive. I go out of my way to purchase non-Chinese manufactured goods. If I was to knowingly buy one I certainly would not pay this much for a Chinese manufactured follow focus unit when you can get something comparable for half the price. This is not a good value.
