Wish it came with instructions but it's easy to figure out. I tried to twist the knob to advance about 3 inches of gear teeth and it stopped after a few turns. I figured out that you need to loosen the screws and slip the gear strip out of the side of the black block and reinsert at the appropriate place on the gear strip. In my case I reinserted the gear strip 3 inches further down the strip and then tighten the screws and twist the adjustment knob until tight. Works great! Strong like bull. Stays secure.
