Dsan LSP-2 Overview

The LSP-2 Laptop SoundPort from DSAN is a compact adapter that allows for converting a computer's speaker output into balanced microphone level signals, available on the two XLR connectors. These connectors can then be used to access a house audio system for better audio performance.

Separate volume controls are provided for each channel and a ground lift switch assures hum-free operation. A sum switch combines the two channels into a mono signal if one is required. A stereo headphone loop-through allows for confidence monitoring aided by the main output mute switch.

Additionally, the unit can function via the computer's USB interface for a clearer signal. No drivers are required under Windows XP or Windows 7. A USB cable and carry pouch are included. The unit is the perfect accessory for anyone who is travelling with a computer based presentation that needs it to be accessible to a larger audience.

It's affordable and does its job well. The ground lift works beautifully and I like it that it gives you 2 channel XLR output. The additional headphone monitor output jack is a blessing. Worth the buy for me.

Can I use this device for converting line out to mic in? In my case, I'm gonna use it to adapt my Zoom F6 line out to my camera's mic in.

This device is intended to allow a computer's audio to hook up to a sound system, but If your camera has two XLR inputs, you can use it to take the unbalance output of a digital recorder into the camera with XLR inputs. You would set the input to "Line" level on the camera inputs. A simple solution for cameras with a 3.5mm mic input would be the Kopul ACDR-35 Line-to-Mic Attenuator Cable, BH #KOACDR35

question

Can I connect the soundport to a single speaker without using a mixer?
Asked by: Anonymous
Sorry for the delay. Been out of range of internet. The answer is yes if you are going directly to a powered speaker that accepts line level signal. You will need to adapt from the 1/8 stereo to a 1/4 , although there are some powered speakers that have a built in 1/8 jack . It will not work going directly into an amp, bypassing the mixer.Again my apologies. Hope this helps.Joe
