LensCoat LCS150500SN overview

  • 1Description

The realtree AP snow Lens Cover For the Sigma 150-500mm f/5.6-6.3 DG OS HSM APO Lens from LensCoat is a 100% closed-cell neoprene coat that protects the lens from bumps and scratches. It is ideal for nature, outdoor photographers, sports shooters and photojournalists. It also provides a thermal barrier, protecting your hands from cold lenses in lower temperatures.

The cover is waterproof, providing protection in inclement weather. It also features a clear plastic window through which you can see the autofocus controls and distance scale. Another benefit of the cover is that is helps disguise the shape of the lens making it less visible to wildlife when you are shooting in the woods. This version comes in white and is covered with a subtle pattern of leaves and branches to help camouflage the lens when shooting outdoors.

Note: It cannot cover the fixed portion of the lens barrel due to the manner in which the lens barrel extends and retracts leaving approximately 2.0" exposed when the lens is fully extended

100% water-proof close-cell neoprene lens cover
Protects the lens from bumps and scratches
Easy to install and remove, leaving no residue on the lens
Clear plastic windows over the auto focus and focus limiter controls, and the distance scale

    LensCoat LCS150500SN reviews

Lens Cover For the Sigma 150-500mm f/5.6-6.3 DG OS HSM APO Lens (Realtree AP Snow) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Not Great The product does protect the lens, which is the main objective. But some pieces do not fit well, the one piece cannot be put on with the Tripod Mount, and they slide when being used. If you are simply trying to get a little Protection for your gear, it will be good, but if you are expecting a perfect fit, and no slip or movement, you will be disappointed. For the price, you would think every detail would be perfect, but that is not the case. If you ge tthis result and it cost half the price, it would be a much better deal. Not overly Impressed, and will most likely not get them for other lens. Would not recommend unless you find it somewhere for like $. Not worth the money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor value While the cover does only part of the job ( barrel on this lens not fully covered, at the price charged, it is not good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great camo and protection I used to go out to shoot wildlife animals and in order to get closer to the skittish birds I wore camo from toes to teeth. The only thing bare naked is my long zoom lens 150-500 mm. With the Forest Green Camo from Lenscoat, I am complete, blending into the wild environment. Lenscoat also helps sort of protection when I brush my long lens around the leaves and bushes etc.. And holy cow, with the Lenscoat on, My Sigma long Zoom lens looks like an expensive PRO (see the photos attached). Who dares to say this is an economy lens for the wildlife photography enthusiast. :)BTW, the staffs at B&H did very good job. For a free shipping, my order arrived on the sixth day, although part of the Midwest had been on snow storm and sud-zero degrees for several days during that week. I was also able to track my order and knew when it was about to be delivered at my door. Keep up the good works guys and for the big boss of B&H, remember to give a raise to all those dedicated employees on their coming review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from don't judge a book by it's cover I like this product but it feels too thin

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Scratch & Bump Protection I use this on a Sigma 150-500 zoom to help break up the outline of the lens while photographing wildlife and also for added scratch & bump protection. The elastic foam rubber covers are well made and fit fairly well over the areas that they cover. They do not cover the zoom or focus rings and be aware that when fully zoomed out a couple of inches of the lens barrel are exposed. It does a good job of breaking up the outline of the lens. With the lens hood attached it is a monster lens, and with the Lenscoat fitted it doesn't look so monstrous. I think it makes it look less expensive which I like too. There is a strip that attaches to the tripod socket collar with a self sticking backing which works and fits well. I feel the Lenscoat is expensive for what it is, but there is no comparative product out there. For the cost I think they should include covers for the area under the tripod collar if the lens is used without it. Also I think covers for the zoom and focus rings with some grippy material should have been included too. The clear plastic windows over the switches make them easy to see but hard to use. The clear plastic windows do more or less waterproof the switch areas, but anywhere there is a seam on the lens there is a seam in the Lenscoat cover, so don't expect it to waterproof your lens. In spite of that, I do like the cover. It's decent camouflage, good scratch and bump protection, and if dropped it MIGHT make the difference between a scuff and a repair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the ease of knowing your protected My environment that my lens are exposed to, with these Lens Coats they help minimize the risk of Damage. You may ask your self why spend hundreds of dollars on neoprene. My thoughts are I spent thousands of dollars on a lens, I can spends hundreds on protection. Thank you Lens Coat for great protection. Thank you B&H for carrying great product line and as always speedy transactions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I'd buy it again It stays on the lens well except the plastic covering the controls on the lens. The sleeve on those parts move around and I found it difficult to move the lock button and stabilization control. It would be far better to leave those sections open for easier control. Other than that, I love the camo pattern which it useful both for summer and winter.
