An Excellent Stand at an Excellent Price

I just got the Kupo light stand as a birthday present, and I'm already loving it. It has excellent build quality, and is surprisingly light for how durable and well-built it is. It goes up as high as I could ever want it, and I'm looking forward to purchasing a strobe to mount on it. I chose this stand after reading this blog post on off camera flash by Zack Arias.
Good Stand for the Price

I saw Kupo products at NAB, and was impressed with the quality of the various items. When I saw B&H carried Kupo light stands, we decided to try them out (they were going head to head with the Avenger stands we already have).I was not disappointed. They are almost indistinguishable from the Avenger stands in construction, except that Kupo uses bolts with lock washers as the hinge pins on the legs, whereas Avenger uses rivets. Not sure yet which is better long term.The one thing that I would change is that the 5/8 baby ping on top is sprayed black on the kupo stands. After a few uses, the screw clamps on the lights scrape off the black paint, which gives the stand a scratched-up, worn look. Avenger just left the pins bare aluminum. Minor point, but an annoyance to those of us who take pride in our gear.
