The Kupo 4-1/2" Grip Head with 1-1/8" Stud and Receiver converts a junior stand into an overhead stand. It's ideal for holding a large overhead frame in place. It features two rotating, nonslip aluminum discs attached to a junior 1-1/8" stud and receiver.
The discs have different sized V-shaped jaws that support any accessory with a 5/8" or 3/8" mounting stud or tubing. The teeth of the jaws securely grip whatever is mounted between the plates.

I should've read the reviews more carefully as this was plastered all over the review section but just as other reviews stated, the brake isn't metal as it appears on the picture and some spec sheets. It's a rubber brake which is not the best.
The picture of the Kupo grip head shows two rotating, non-slip aluminum discs which is what is written in the item description as well. The two I received were the older version with the rubber disks that other reviewers have complained about. Might be supply chain issues, but it's a drag they went back to the older rubber disk, so I returned the item.
