Built like a tankI decided to get a 3 foot octa-box for use with my speed lights. Previously I just used a flag holder as a boom arm to hold a bare speed light. With the extra weight I really needed a boom that was meant for this task. I shot with the boom over the weekend and it was exactly what I needed. Super easy to balance thanks to the sliding center portion (black area + first screw) and once anything was locked down it did not flex or move at all. Very well made and thought out design. Small rubber washers prevent telescoping parts from clashing into each other and nearly every part is numbered and looks to be replaceable, though I doubt I would ever need to.

Excellent High Quality ArmA brand perhaps not prominent on the radar, even unknown by B&H personnel. I purchased the Avenger D200 grip head and needed a boom arm to fit into it. This arm fits it perfectly. Thankfully I was informed of it on a photography forum, as live chat and a call to B&H did not reveal its existence. It works as advertised. Kupo grip equipment is very well made and a pleasure to use.

Solid Baby BoomThis steel baby boom is solid, strong, and actually fun and easy to use. It's so fun to use I purchased a second one. I'm using very heavy 10+ pound battery monolights, and this boom can handle them with no problem. I use it along with the Kupo Grip Head, and the large handle makes it easy to lock this boom in place, and also loosen it with only one hand. What really makes everything come together are sandbags and a rolling stand. You'll need one bag for the hook on the boom arm, and one for the leg of your stand. Once everything is balanced, the movement of the arm is silky smooth.

SOLIDI used this boom to support my Photogenic monolight. This not one of those cheap aluminum light weight booms, it's heavy with a solid feel to it.

Rock SolidI need stability for using Octa-boxes overhead. This boomarm is rock solid. I use a small weight bag as a counterbalance most of the time and I have had no issues with this arm performing it's duties. I was so impressed with the quality I purchased theKupoMaster Combo HD Stand (11'). Paired with this boom arm I never again have to worry about the boom arm failing and dropping a light or softbox on a model or client.

Sturdy boomSturdy, steel boom. If anything, it appears over-built. Parts of it are 1/4 inch plate steel. Weight is exactly as advertised, 8.3 lbs. Only shortcoming I can think of, there is no threaded attachment on the business end.
