I am using the 1/4-20 threads as a solid connection to my Westcott Scrim Jim LED frame. The other end of the stud attaches firmly to the 5/8 receiver of a Kupo ball-joint arm attached to a C-stand. This makes it easy to fine tune the positioning of my LED lights.
