The Studio Baseplate with 12" (30.48 cm) Rods for C100/C300/C500 from Zacuto is designed specifically for the Canon EOS C100, C300, and C500 cameras. It is exceptionally flat which helps to keep the center of gravity quite low. This baseplate features a pair of 15 mm rods that are 12" (304.8 mm) long running through the length of the baseplate. You can quickly reposition the rods for various lens lengths by loosening the 2 levers, one on each side of the baseplate.

On each side of the baseplate there is also a set of 15 mm lightweight holes. The side holes take 15 mm female rods that are locked with Allen screws. It also comes with 5/32" Allen Key to drive these screws. This gives you a virtually unlimited amount of mounting options. With these side holes, you have the option of turning the baseplate into a cage configuration.

You can even mount a Zwiss Plate with professional batteries on the side of the baseplate when shooting on a tripod for better balance. When not using a cage configuration, the side holes can be used for an EVF, Zacuto articulating arms, rods and more. The baseplate also has standard 1/4" 20 and 3/8" 16 holes on the bottom for mounting the rig onto a tripod.

The Studio Baseplate attaches to the camera with 3/8" 16 and 1/4" 20 screws*. This baseplate is perfect for a rig like the Stinger or an advanced tripod rig with rods extending at the back for external power.

Note: *The screw hole pattern on the Studio Baseplate is 1/4" 20, 3/8" 16, 3/8" 16, 3/8" 16. To mount the C100/C300/C500 camera, you need to use the 1/4" 20 and the first 3/8" 16 screw holes. The Baseplate includes one 1/4" 20 screw and one 3/8" 16 screw. To mount an Epic or Scarlet camera, you need to use the last two 3/8" 16 screws.

    Zacuto Z-CSB reviews

Studio Baseplate with 12" (30.48 cm) Rods for C100/C300/C500 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Works when you have no other option Plate is junk. The knobs are hard on fingers and don't tighten enough to stop rods from spinning. Heavy, too wide, very difficult to get camera screws in and flat on camera base- they're fully threaded so you have to play with it to get them to thread the base and camera without a gap. Very very very slow to mount and dismount. All around a very poorly designed piece, but when it's the only option in stock last minute, what can I expect? If you can wait to get ANY other base then please do so. It's like zacuto wants to make this as inefficient and annoying as possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Until now, I've loathed Zacuto products It's expensive, it's heavy, and it's worth it. The Zacuto Studio Baseplate for the C300 is the perfect baseplate for this camera. I've used a bunch of other baseplates on this camera and they all leave me wanting. With this I can pop it on a tripod, pull it off and operate it man-cam style, or throw it on my shoulder. I never thought I'd own a Zacuto anything, until now my experience with their products has been frustrating. This product is so well designed, I'm most likely going to buy the Recoil QR shoulder pad and c300 handle relocator. Good job, Zacuto, you got me. This product is pretty expensive, but the alternatives are so lackluster or ultra-expensive, that it's just right.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is the one that works. We went through FOUR different sets of rods/rails/baseplates before settling on this one for our C300PL. I was basically trying to avoid spending $ on the Zacuto so we tried several other solutions that were each less than a fourth the price, but in the end it was worth it. The Zacuto is the only one that we found that has a super-low profile that works well with the top-heavy C300. This one works perfectly, no complaints at all. Zacuto products are extremely well made, but I've always found them to be somewhat overpriced because you can usually find a similar product from another vendor that works just as well at a fraction of the cost. Not in this case, though... this baseplate is the ONLY one like it and the only one I would recommend for the C300. It seems expensive for what you get, but buying something cheaper is false economy in this case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A must for the c300.. Nice, well designed... Low profile... Lightweight, rail system for c300. My matte box does not have vertical adjustments but with this baseplate it mounted up to the lenses just right. My only gripe is I wish the side ports that accept adjustable arms etc... Had quick release... Gotta keep a hex wrench close at hand if you want to remove items mounted directly into these ports... Not a deal breaker tho' ... Highly recommended...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I dig Zacuto I think some Zacuto stuff is over priced but for what is out there and the quality you get with all Zacuto gear this one is worth. Fairly priced with the competition, great build and quick. The rods are a bit long with how I have my C300 configured so I currently use a set of 7 rods with my baseplate cause I only need rods off the front end for follow focus and matte box. No need for anything off the back at the moment for me. I recommend this baseplate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty! This thing is a beast! Just started using it and it supports my C100 really nicely! It is easy to attract to any tripod and put other accessories on it! Kinda pricey though, look for a used one before buying a new one to save money! Great product though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Have if you are a C-Series owner If you are thinking of upgrading to a C100, C300, or C500, I would for sure recommend this studio baseplate. It helps a lot when rigging my C100 with all sorts of accessories, including my Zacuto follow focus and EVF.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Excellent baseplate. Fit my C100 perfectly. I use it in the field for on-location shooting. Very sturdy and love the design that allows it to counterbalance on the tripod head easily. Well done, Zacuto.
