The black Low Pod Camera Support from Kirk is designed to hold a camera so you can shoot at a low angle or simply do macro photography.

The camera support can be picked up and moved with the carrying handle that's built onto the frame. Any 3/8" female threaded tripod head is compatible with the Low Pod Camera Support, and four rubber feet keep the mount from sliding on rocks and other uneven surfaces. The support is constructed of aluminum and is powder-coated for durability.

Low Pod Camera Support (Black) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from very well made camera support Great for table top macro work. No need for a cumbersome tripod. It makes for a solid, non-tippable base. I mount a heavy ball head (B55 from Really Right Stuff) and then a motorized Stackshot by Cognisys. The Sony A7r2 with a 90mm macro is mounted on top. All this quality stuff allows me to focus on precise macro adjusting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lopw Pod great for tabletop and macro ph The Kirk Enterprises Low Pod Camera Support is great for tabletop and Macro photography. The Low Pod is made out of solid metal, has a convenient carrying handle and has a low center of gravity making it very stable. I have mounted cameras with longer/heaver lenses and extension tubes without any stability problems. Another great feature is that it has a normal tripod screw which allows you to mount your favorite head and/or slider. I recommend this product to any tabletop/macro photographer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just What I was Hoping For... Everything I was hoping for, shooting table-top and low-level macros in the field. Plenty sturdy, easily leveled on whatever surface, and takes a Kirk or Vanguard ball-head mount easily. Easily supports a D700 and 105 or 55mm macro lens for wildflower and knothole photos. Mounts much lower than most tripods. I suggest using a sock full of sand (or equivalent) as a weight-stabilizer. I wish I had bought this years ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Camera support simple yet effective... The Low Pod certainly makes sense as a table top or ground tripod, as it has a nice wide base, and puts your camera right down at the correct level. I coupled mine with a little bit of customization and it now has an excellent clamping mechanism that allows for the instant switching of different ball heads as needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Table Top Macro Work This was purchased for use doing macro photography work on a table. The Low Pod is a very simple product: solid build quality, stable, and fits standard tripod heads. With a geared head and 5DmkII, the Low Pod stays put, which is exactly what you need when doing macro work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overpriced, but high quality $ for this stand is outrageous, but really the only item for the job. Very well made, but still...
