You will be able to use a Flat Base Head like the Older 501HDV on this tripod, if you have a 75mm Half Ball Adapter as well. Once you have the Manfrotto 520BALLSH 75mm Short Half-Ball, B&H # MA520BSH, you will be able to use a 501 Head with a 3/8"-16 Flat Base Connection.

Will this fit with the BOGEN MVH500A PRO FLUID HD,60MM H.BALL?
I pared the Benro 75mm Half Ball Adapter with the Manfrotto MVT502AM Aluminum Telescopic Twin Leg Video Tripod. This tripod will work with both a 75 and 60 mm half ball. This parring works great, I have 2 half balls that allows me to change heads quickly as well as use the ball to level the head.

The Manfrotto MVT502AM Aluminum Telescopic Twin Leg Video Tripod (B&H # MAMVT502AM) does not come with a carrying case. The Ruggard Deluxe Padded 27" Tripod Case (Black), B&H # RUBD3027, will work well for it.

Can you mount On-Ground spreaders like Manfrotto 165MV on this tripod?
This tripod will already be nice and sturdy thanks to the mid-level spreader that is included with it. However if you wanted to use an On-Ground Spreader the Manfrotto 165 should work well for you.
