I recently acquired a 24mm IS USM lens that did not come with a lens hood. The Canon EW-65B lens is a perfect fit and effective at excluding stray light sources that may cause lens flare.

Overpriced, but OEM Quality

Overpriced. And should have come with the lens to begin with. OEM quality is better than the generic version.

Yes, the Canon EW-65B Lens Hood for EF 24mm and 28mm f/2.8 Lenses is the correct lens hood for the Canon RF 24mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM Lens. Alternatively one can use the Vello EW-65B Dedicated Lens Hood as well, BH #VELHCEW65B (https://bhpho.to/3d3cHJW).

What type of mount is this hood? I'm hoping it will snap in to a 58mm step ring to be used with an olympus wide angle lens. Thanks for your time!

This particular lens hood was purchased to attach to a Canon Lens. The hood features a twist and lock mechanism to attach to the lens. There is a locking mechanism which must be pressed to either place or remove the hood from the lens. I hope this helps. I have been pleased with the product and is sturdy.
