BBH-200 Ballhead is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Innovative Ballhead Meets and Exceeds I've owned and used ballheads from Kirk, Giottos, Manfrotto, and Gitzo. This one is comparable in quality to the best, is lighter weight, and adds some nice innovative features. The oversized knobs are convenient without getting in the way, and the leveling feature is a great new innovative feature, which eliminates the need for other leveling equipment when shooting panos or simply when you want to easily level your rig without hassle. At first I was concerned about the lightness of the head, thinking it wasn't heavy-duty enough. I'm glad to learn that it is definitely a solid piece of equipment. I use it with my Vanguard Alta Pro 264AT tripod, which is equally nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Ballhead This ballhead is as sturdy as you need for any DX camera and up to 300mm lens combo. I don't think it would have a problem with a bigger setup, but that's as big as mine gets so I can't say how it would perform. The fine adjustment isn't too great, mostly this is just unlock, move camera, and then lock it down. My dad has a RRS ballhead that is worlds apart from this, but at over double the price. So buy this ballhead, you won't be disappointed for the $

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very solid head The separate pan lock is common enough but that doesn't make it any less awesome. I really like the lever lock for the ball itself. It's quick, easy, and very secure. The Rapid Level System is okay...it works fine but I don't see myself ever using it. It levels the ball to the base but if you need it to be level, first the base has to be level. Being Arca compatible is a huge bonus. Thumbs up to Vanguard for this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong & Versatile - Artist or Photo I own two of these ball heads now along with four plates. I have had them since around June 2014. I changed from a pistol grip and was extremely pleased with the small size of this unit along with its ability to hold very heavy loads (rated at 40lbs). While I use these ball heads for photography and they hold a 7D with heavy lenses without issue, it is in art that I have experienced their real strength. I use 3 different painting palettes on these heads/tripods both in studio and in the field doing plein air painting. One palette covers a horizontal surface area of 24 wide. They're made of wood and glass and one is fairly heavy (15lbs). I mix paint pressing very hard on the palette including the outer edges (12 out from center of ballhead) and these never flinch, give, or show any sort of weakness. They hold and allow for a very strong portable work surface.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Impressed The head has very good build quality. Feels very solid. No dip noticed once locked off. The auto centering centers the head to your tripod so if your tripod legs are not level the auto centering will not be level. There is a little bit of movement once the auto centering is engaged before you lock it off but it makes centering the head much faster and easier. I have mine mounted on a 3 legged thing Eric and the combo works great together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Lot Lighter Bur It Does the Job! I HAVE A COOUPLE OF OTHER TRIPOD HEADS BUT THE BBH 200 IS SO MUCH LIGHER AND STILL WORKS FINE WITH MY 500MM LENS WITH A 1.4 EXTENDER AND MY 300 MM LENS WITH A 2X EXTENDER. iT'S ;IGHTER BUT STILL HOLDS THE LENS STILL FOR LONG EXOPOSURES.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worthwhile upgrade I obtained this ballhead as an upgrade to an existing non-ARCA unit that I was using. Six months ago I began regularly using a Peak Design Quick release mount that I love. Use of this ballhead with its ARCA-compatible mount completes my transition. I no longer need to waste precious moments de-installing the Peak Design ARCA plate before using my tripod. This ball head is sturdy, fairly lightweight, and well-made. Perhaps most importantly, I was able to find a good solution that did not break the bank.
