The UpClose G2 10x50 Porro Binocular from Celestron offers a large magnification for exceptional up-close detail with the even larger light transmission abilities of 50 millimeter objectives. This binocular is a top performer in low light conditions such as dawn, dusk and an overcast day. Good on the hunt or for outdoor panoramic vistas it is an excellent choice to double as an astronomical sky scanner. The exceptionally wide 67.4 degrees Apparent Angle of View (AAoV) is greatly appreciated here. The Pleiades and the Moon's terminator never looked so awesome. 10x50's are at the far end of comfortably handheld viewing without experiencing the effects of the wobbles. A tripod thread has been integrated into the chassis for stable viewing over long durations.

The UpClose G2 10x50 Porro possesses multi-coated optics for brighter, sharper, higher contrasted viewing. The classic Porro prism design lays out better three-dimensional imaging with less light loss. The outdoor factor has not been ignored. Water resistant with a rubber covered aluminum housing it is endowed with finger ridges and thumb indents. Fold the rubber eyecups down with eye or sunglasses and extend them with glasses for the maximum field of view. This is an all around binocular offering a large size factor but just within the limits of a handheld steady view.

Exceptionally wide AAoV of 67.4°
Large ridged center focus wheel affords easily accessible focusing
Rubber eyecups and right eye diopter adjustment supply comfortable customized viewing
Porro Prisms offer enhanced three-dimensional imaging, less light loss and generally sharper images for a smaller investment
Rubber covered aluminum body with ergonomic thumb indents and finger ridges provide a secure and comfortable grip, as well as added shock-resistance
BAK7 glass with multi-coated optics on at least one lens surface reduces light loss and glare due to reflection offering a brighter, higher-contrast image
Celestron recommends this binocular for bird watching, sporting events, nature & wildlife, hunting, travel & ventures, concerts & live events, and boating

UpClose G2 10x50 Porro Binocular is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome product in its category I purchased it for occational bird watching. This binoc produces crisp image. I'm impressed! I used Olympus DPS 10x50 and Nikon action 10x50. I think this one is better than Olympus and very much compareable to Nikon, considering the image quality. It's BaK7 prism produces extremely contrasty image. Contruction is good considering it's price. But Olympus and Nikon is better in this regard. I suspect little heavy shock may put lenses out of collimation. At this price bracket you cannot expect much. View through this one very stable as it is quite wide and comparatively light weight. Bad part is the neck strap. It's very thin and hard to trust while hanging from neck. One should buy a seperate neck strap.Just because of neck strap I have given 4 star. Else it's a 5 star product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought both Celestron and Meade 10x50's to compare Celestron: B&H # CEG210X50UCB Meade: B&H # ME10X50TVB Price diff at B&H: 27 cents as I write. FOV stated: C 6.8 deg, M 5.8 deg, but looking at a fence, I couldn't see any difference in the number of slats I could see. Otherwise, it was hard to tell them apart except in one major area: The Celestron can take a tripod mount, and the Meade can't, so big advantage, Celestron.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No me duro 2 usadas Lamentablemente el soporte que sostiene los 2 oculares el que permite mover arriba y abajo los oculares se me parti con tan solo intentar retirar la tapa protectora! lo que no sabra es si eso es defecto de Fabrica o fue por descuido mio! igual intentare buscar la garanta por si acaso!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very clear They focus nicely and the image is very clear. My only complaint is they didn't work with my tripod. The connector is on the front and that doesn't work for a standard tripod. Would be nice to specify an adapter is required.
