question

Will this lens have any issues showing full footage from the Red Dragon 6K? Also what focal length is the 24mm an equivelent of on the Dragon 6K? I need to get close to 35mm. Does this have a 1.3 crop factor giving it a 31.2mm equivalent on the Dragon at 6K?
Asked by: Marcus
The CN-E 24mm T1.5 LF Cine Lens is meant to cover Full Frame sensor dimensions of 36 x 24 with its image circle of 43.27mm. The RED Dragon 6K sensor is 30.7 x 15.8 with an image circle of 34.5mm. Thus the CN-E 24mm T1.5 LF Cine Lens will easily cover the RED Dragon 6K sensor. Now on to the equivalency question. If you use a 24mm lens on the RED Dragon 6K, you get an angle of view of 65.20. To match 65.20 in Full Frame, you would need a 28mm.On a Full Frame camera, a 35mm lens will create an image with a 54 angle of view. On the RED Dragon 6K sensor, to match that 54 angle of view, you need a 30mm lens. The 1.3 crop factor calculation of 31.2mm is probably close enough.

Yes absolutely! Better than the photo lenses, greater ability to manually fine tune the focus (and aperture), however..no autofocus.
