The Elmo ECart12-261 Classroom Kit is a complete interactive classroom solution. It consists of a 3x2 ft cart with rolling wheels, a high image quality TT-12 document camera, a CRA-1 wireless tablet that links up to the camera, a CRC-1 switcher, a CRP-261 LCD projector, two extended-range 5-inch speakers, and a 25 watt amplifier. The speakers and amplifier are mounted inside the front of the cart.
The camera lets you capture high-quality video and audio and connect to an optional projector to deliver powerful interactive presentations. You can display video, images, and documents and emphasize their details with sophisticated features like split-screen, highlight, mask, picture-in-picture, color filters, and annotations. The features are part of an included software called Image Mate and can be applied to images already captured or to those placed under the camera eye for live projection, or to both. The camera has a CMOS sensor that captures 3.4 million pixels worth of information. The lens of the camera has a 12x optical zoom that combines with an 8x digital zoom to magnify even tiny details of documents or objects by up to 96 times, clearly, without any distortion. The camera arm is swivel-adjustable and lets you get shots from almost any angle, even from upside-down. Audio is captured by a built-in mic, and an external mic can optionally be connected. Video is delivered in 1080p HD, in full-motion at 30 frames-per-second. Video, photos, and audio can be saved internally via available USB and SD slots, or can be saved onto a connected computer. The TT-12 is compatible with Macs and PCs.
The tablet lets you wirelessly control the camera's presentation functions from up to 50 feet away. It comes with its own software called Image Mate Accent, which includes all the features of the camera's software plus a few additional ones. Without the tablet, the features would be applied using the computer that the camera would be connected to. But with the tablet, you can walk around the room and make annotations and apply other features right on the tablet screen. A special pen comes included for annotations. The tablet wirelessly connects by an included USB transceiver to the same computer that the camera connects to, and thus replaces the computer. (The computer must be Windows-based. Although the camera is compatible with both Macs and PCs, the tablet is only Windows-compatible.)
The switcher allows you to switch between connected media sources -- computers, DVD players, portable music players, and even other document cameras -- at the press of a button. It supports bi-directional RS-232 and IR communication, and is pre-programmed with IR codes for eight leading brands of projectors. You can connect a microphone to the switcher and freely speak over any audio being played, as a "ducking" feature will prevent frequency clashes.
The projector features 2600 lumens of brightness and has enough projection power to allow students in a medium to large room to take notes even if some ambient lights are on. It is equipped with matrix LCD technology and supports resolutions up to XGA. Distortion due to wrong positioning is compensated by an auto vertical keystone correction thanks to which images are displayed clear and square. Lamp control adjusts the brightness of the images. Focus can be achieved by a digital zoom function, and an auto setup button enables Input search, Auto Keystone correction, and Auto PC adjustment. Connections are available for a computer input and a monitor output. Lamp and filter maintenance functions allow for effective and efficient maintenance. And power management functions allow lamp life to be maintained by reducing lamp power consumption. The projector supports 19 languages.
