The orange Tether Tools TetherPro USB 2.0 Type-A to 5-Pin Mini-USB Cable is 15' long and has gold-plated connectors to provide consistent and reliable conductivity as well as corrosion resistance. The ends of this cable feature a standard USB Type-A male connector and the other side is outfitted with a 5-pin mini-B male plug, which is compatible with most digital cameras.

To deliver data at speeds up to 480 Mb/s, Tether Tools has equipped this cable with USB 2.0 technology. It sports a reinforced Ferrite core that filters out signal noise and reduces transmission errors. In addition, the full-lined shielding feature protects the signal against external interference.

Perfect length for my studio, keeps my camera tethered to my PC for quick reviews of my photos. The bright orange color reduces the chance of stepping on the cable in low light situations.

angled cord works much better

The angle cord is the only way to go. I have been tethering for years and always lost connection with the straight out cord and the jerk stopper cable. this one is a lot more stable.

I like the fact that the cord does not have memory meaning that when uncoiled the cord goes fairly uncoiled, or straight. Transmission speed through the line is consistent. And the quality of the line appears to be good.

B&H had cables in stock when the manufacturer was out of them. As usual it was shipped the day I ordered it and in my hands a couple of days later. Cable worked great for my tether setup for duplicating slides with a dslr on a copy stand.

What gauge wire is used in these cables? I just ordered 28/24 AWG cables and wondering how these are any better, if so.

A Canon 5D Mark III does not have a USB 3.0 connection. It can only provide USB 2.0 speeds, with a USB 2.0 cable. As a note you can plug a USB 2.0 cable into the MacBook Pros USB 3.0 port.
