The DAP-1533 Wireless N450 MediaBridge and Access Point from D-Link works with your router to extend your wireless network and connect up wireless devices in your network on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. This bridge connects to your wireless network as setup by your router and extends that signal to wireless n, b, g, and a devices. It is capable of data transfer speeds of up to 450 Mbps. In utilizing both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, the bridge allows you to avoid interference when connecting a multitude of wireless and wired devices. For instance, you can use the 5GHz band to ensure smooth video streaming or online gaming, while you surf the Web or share photos on the 2.4 GHz band. In addition, this bridge also features four Gigabit Ethernet ports for linking up to four Ethernet-enabled devices to your network. All told, this device is an easy-to-use, convenient way to connect the wireless and Ethernet-enabled media devices to your home or small office network.
Wireless Bridge Mode
The N450 MediaBridge is great for connecting your entertainment system to your existing wireless network. With 4 Gigabit Ethernet ports, you can connect any Ethernet-enabled devices, such as cable/satellite boxes, game consoles, Internet-ready TVs and Network Attached Storage (NAS) to your wireless network for fast wired speeds without having to connect it to your router
Access Point Mode
The N450 MediaBridge can also extend your wireless network so you can stream HD content to the far corners of your home or play multiplayer games without any lag or latency issues
The dual band technology in the N450 MediaBridge means you can select either 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz wireless signals to adjust for your different networking needs. You can do all you normally do with your network using the 2.4 GHz band. The 5GHz band helps avoid interference by providing a clearer wireless band for HD signals
