The 4000 Series QLA4050C Single Port PCI-X to 1 GbE iSCSI Adapter from Q-Logic provides SAN connectivity over Ethernet and TCP/IP network infrastructures. Both the iSCSI and TCP/IP processing functions are performed on the adapters and not on the host server CPU. The overall iSCSI SAN performance is increased when you offload the functions to the adapters and more host server CPU processing power is available to the server applications.
