The 2-Port USB Dual-Link DVI Cable KVM Switch with Audio from IOGEAR is a simple way to share one dual-link DVI monitor, mouse, keyboard, speaker set and microphone between two different computers. The product supports 32-bit color at resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 and its mouse and keyboard emulation ensures uninterrupted operation when switching between computers.

There are two convenient switching methods available to use with this switch. The first is a simple push-button remote that easily fits anywhere on your desk, and the second is via hotkeys that allow you to independently switch and control the functions between computers.

Equipped with IOGEAR's DynaSync, which provides the EDID support for Windows 7, this technology remembers your monitor's ideal resolution and refresh rate. The switch can then boot up all of your computers simultaneously, and switch back and forth between the two computers quickly--while still maintaining the ideal resolution of the monitor.

Whether you need to quickly toggle between PC, Mac, or Sun hardware, the 2-Port USB Dual-Link DVI Cable KVM Switch from IOGEAR provides an easy-to-use Plug-n-Play solution to share and switch between devices.

One dual-link DVI console controls two dual-link DVI or USB computers. With a resolution of up to 2560 x 1600 at 60Hz.
Port switching is possible via remote switch button, mouse, or hotkeys. Hotkeys allow independent KVM and audio switching between computers.
USB 2.0 Peripheral Sharing is possible via the mouse port--Connect a powered USB hub to expand your USB connectivity. Mouse emulation must be disabled for this feature to function correctly. USB mouse and keyboard emulation is available, for error-free boot-up and instantaneous recognition when switching computers.
IOGEAR's DynaSync technology reads and remembers the monitor's parameters (EDID) so there is no delay or change in video resolution when switching between, or booting up, computers. IOGEAR's DynaSync provides the EDID support for Windows 7.
Power-On Detection--If a computer is powered off, the switch will automatically toggle to the next powered-on computer.
Mac and Sun keyboards are supported, re-programmable Hotkey activation accommodates keyboards without a Scroll Lock key, and mouse emulation can be disabled to support a mouse with special keys.
Plug-n-Play ready, no software is required to run, and the Firmware is upgradeable whenever the updates are made available.
Microphone and 2.1 stereo sound are supported.
WEEE and RoHS compliant hardware.

2-Port Dual-Link DVI Cable KVM with Audio is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Solution to My Problem I got this KVM switch when I replaced my old monitor with a new ASUS PB278Q that I wanted to operate at 2560 x 1440 resolution. To do that I needed a switch that supports that resolution and provides DVI-D dual-link monitor connections. This switch does that. Everything worked perfectly right off the bat. The quality of the display image is the same whether the monitor & PC are connected directly or through the switch. The push button (to switch between monitors) works fine as does the keystrokes & mouse clicks (when you've configured them correctly). The switch does exactly what it should with no problems. When I used ASUS online chat to find out how to use the mouse to switch between displays I got accurate & competent help immediately. All in all I'm completely happy with this switch & recommend it for any use it's appropriate for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Good Solution for the Price I purchased this DVI switch in order to run two video editing systems off of the the same Apple Cinema monitor. So far it has worked well. My only qualm was that the horizontal scrolling of my apple mouse doesn't appear to be supported through the USB offered on the switch. This can be a little annoying as I tend to use that to scroll through my video timelines. Overall, it has streamlined our workflow which is always a plus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent product I purchased the switch with some apprehension due to the mixed reviews on some other sites. Anyone who buys this product must bear in mind that it needs a little bit of a learning curve when it comes to using it via a keyboard. It works flawlessly via the remote control right out of the box. However, one has to be patient till it's made working through the keyboard. I can work it with the Scroll Lock and it indeed works perfectly (time lag a bit longer than through the remote control; negligible though), but I am still having some trouble making it work with the Ctrl key. Since it works in the two aforementioned ways, this third is of lesser importance. The only thing remaining is that I wish it had HDMI connectors (and cabling) as well. But then it would have been more expensive. The GCS982U has made a HUGE difference in operating my two computers. The DVD connectors are making an equally HUGE difference as far as the image quality of my monitor. The USB connectors gave me the possibility to at long last get modernized and dispense of those abominable IBM stone age keyboard/mouse connectors. I can't as of now pronounce myself regarding the audio connections, since I use only one of my computer's MoBo's audio system (extremely good, rivals my other computer's pro card). That, maybe sometime in the future. Thanks for reading, John.
