Think Tank Photo 700019 overview

  • 1Description

The black Keep It Up Shoulder Strap from Think Tank fits your optional Pro, Steroid Speed and Thin Skin Belt. This fully adjustable strap can readily be switched between shoulders for both functionality and comfort. It's basic use is to change any modular/skin component into a shoulder bag. For storage, there's a handy memory card holder and stretch pocket for your iPhone or optional Pixel Pocket Rocket.

It's made from 100D rip-stop nylon and contains metal buckles as well as strong Rock Lockster buckles that are male-female coupled for maximum strength. The strap also contains 3-ply bonded nylon thread. The beauty of the strap is that it can be moved from one shoulder to the other without having to remove your belt. This comes in handy when you wish to minimize the stress of carrying heavy loads for a long time.

Attaches to any Think Tank Photo Belt for vertical support, includes memory card holder, stretch pocket fits iPhone or PPR, turns any modular/skin component into a shoulder bag
Fasten D-ring attachments to belt by first inserting the female side of the buckle under the webbing loop on the belt. Bring the male side of the buckle BEHIND the belt, over the top and close the buckle securely. D-ring should be pointing up, above the top of the belt
D-ring attachments should be positioned on either side of the belt buckle and at the midpoint of the belt, designated by the Think Tank logo
The Keep It Up Shoulder Strap can also be used as a regular shoulder bag for any Modular/Skin Rotation Component Pouch

Keep It Up Shoulder Strap (Black) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This sure makes life more comfortable... This is Think Tank quality through and through. Great for extra support if you are using heavy gear on a Think Tank belt. Wear this for hours on end and barely know it's there. Nice zippered pocket for your iPhone or extra memory cards. If I could change one thing about this strap it would be to put a zipper (or velcro flap) on the little slots inside the pouch. Although it's snug, I feel if I put a card in the pocket and forget to zip the outside pouch I run the risk of losing the card. Scary with a blank card, nerve racking if you need to place a full card in the pouch in a pinch. Otherwise, this is the best I have ever used. Worth every dime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Design and Functionality I use Think Tanks Modular set with the Pro Speed Belt. My problem since day one has been that I am in between a Medium and Large. I use a large, but whenever I have my 70-200 2.8 with or without a body attached, I end up looking like Wyatt Earp with my belt slipping down on one side. This is the fix. Not only does it help keep my D700w/grip and 70-200 (hood attached)on one hip without sliding around my waist, it now allows me to put my D300s/grip with 17-55 2.8 with (hood attached)so I can have two hands free whenever I need. The cell phone pouch aka memory card holder has a mesh pocket inside for even extra storage. The zipper is quiet and opens away from you, so you can peak in on your cell phone in the middle of a performance without distracting patrons. It comes with two sets up of buckles to be able to switch shoulders, in case of fatigue. This is VERY useful on long days with your Pro gear. Also folds very compactly to fit in practically any camera bag, if not your pocket.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Did not fit well This is the very first ThinkTank product with which I have not been entirely satisfied. The adjustable strap is really long. Even though I am almost 5' 11, I could not get the strap to support much of the belt weight with the straps in all the way. Perhaps I wear the belt too high on my hips. The phone case on the strap is also pretty small and wouldn't hold my iPhone 4 in an Otterbox. Quality was of the usual high level, but I returned the strap since the fit was off.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Useful accessory for Think Tank belts I use this with a steroid speed belt. The primary problem is the adjustability. I'm average height. The strap is very long, and I had to adjust it to it's shortest length. This limits its range of users, and there is a lot of excess strap to deal with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Utilitarian, Quality, Lengthy I purchased this after coming to the conclusion that the Pixel Harness was a little over the top for my type of photography, and after tiring somewhat of hearing my wife and daughters guffaw when I donned that same harness. This strap serves the purpose admirably, sufficiently supporting the various skins and bags that I put on the Think Tank belts. It is well-designed and constructed, and certainly is adequately adjustable, but I strongly agree with the opinions of some that the strap is really, really lengthy. I am 6' and 190 lb., and I had to shorten the strap all the way to hoist the belt to where I wanted it; someone over 7' and 400 lb. with a bulky parka on just might utilize most of the strap, but I'm not certain even of that. I cut some of the excess strap off and burnt the end to prevent fraying. In short, this strap does the job very well, but is very long to the point of the excess length of strap becoming cumbersome. Production of limited quantities probably precludes Think Tank offering this in various sizes (as they do their belts), so I think it's preferable that they offer the excess strap just in case. I only question if this strap would meet the needs of those of average height or less, so I would not universally recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Thought Out Shoulder Strap I use this with the Pro Speed Belt and Digital Holster. Works well to distribute the weight and keep the belt from sliding down while hiking with a backpack. As mentioned in a previous review, an iphone with a protective case will not fit in the holder on the strap. An extra 1/4" in width would do the trick. Think Tank does a great job in well thought out functional designs for their products.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Waaaay too long Biggest issue with this is it's way too long, and I'm not a particularly small person. I'm 5'11" and 155 and at the shortest setting it's still too long for me. The shoulder pad is also perhaps a little too grippy for my tastes. Overall I like having it more than not having it, but the length makes no sense.
