The CT-3441S Travel Rapid Carbon Fiber Tripod with CB-40D Ball Head from Feisol has a load capacity of 44 lb, weight 5.1 lb, and extends up to 73.6" high. Its 4-section carbon fiber legs have twist locks to adjust their height. The legs reverse-fold around the center column and ball head, allowing the tripod to fold down to just 16.9". A ballast hook on the center column is available for adding a stabilization weight, and foam grips on the legs add comfort when carrying or holding, especially in cold weather.

The included CB-40D ball head is compatible with most Arca-type quick-release plates, and has separate locks to control the ball movement and the 360° panning. A friction control knob allows for fine adjustments, and a safety lock prevents the included QR plate from being accidentally released.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally something that works After fiddling around with 4 different tripods between $180 and $350 that I didn't like much for one or the other reason and all of them because of their weight, I decided to bite the bullet and step up to a higher range. I'm not a big fan and frequent user of tripods, because I shoot mostly people and they're moving alot, but when you need a tripod, you need one. Since I'm shooting with the Nikon D800 at 36 MP, I see more need and use for a tripod to get the optimum out of that mega sensor. I shoot alot of products, where the weight is not a big issue. But when I go on trips to shoot landscape, the tripod usually stays in the trunk later in the day because I'm sick of the extra weight. Now, this thingy here is really leight weight and folds to a very small package. Tripod and camera with 70-200 lens can still be lifted easily with one hand. I think will will use my new tripod a lot more than all the old ones together. 5 stars for a good compromise between size, weight and stability. If you're not traveling, you might look into the larger versions. My first Feisol, very good product and quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Travel Tripod. Ever. After seriously researching just about every travel tripod out there, I made the decision to go with Feisol and am glad I did. I needed something to fit in a carry-on and it just barely does in the Mindshift 40L backpack which has a 20 interior (17.5 on the interior sides). I also needed something with good height and strength. This tripod doesn't disappoint. I wanted the extra height for versatility. The tripod is a little shaky with both columns extended, but if there is no wind, there is no problem. Having just one column extended would be stable enough against most lateral forces. The carbon fiber definitely helps reduce vibrations as well. The weight was less of a concern for me, although it is nice to have a super light weight tripod. The hook is the biggest inconvenience of having to screw it on whenever it is needed. For those occasional times, I will likely have the patience to screw on a hook if I have the patience to add extra weight. The CB-40D tripod head does prevent the legs from folding in at their slimmest, but it fits just fine in the tripod bag which just barely fits in my backpack. The head itself is very secure with no drift. The tension knob is very convenient too. The biggest competitor for this tripod was the 3 Legged Thing Brian V3. The deciding factor was on stability since both met the height and folded length requirements I needed. Feisol had thicker legs with fewer leg/column sections. Less is more in this case. The great quality of this tripod seems strong enough to last a decade of heavy use. It is sleek, subtle, and fits the job perfectly. It operates as smooth as butter and the spring-loaded leg locks are simple and convenient (It baffles me on how the lady below couldn't figure it out since it could have easily been done even with the liquor bottle in her other hand). Feisol does an amazing job at offering top quality at very reasonable prices. You won't regret this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, Light Weight, Secure and Smooth Functioning Tripod For the last year I have been re evaluating what I carry to substantially reduce the bulk and weight of my photo kit without compromising the quality of my nature and landscape work. Recently I have committed to a serious upgrade to a certain brand new camera design from Sweden and to limit myself to 2 lenses. That being decided I began to research what was available in higher end tripods looking for a camera support that would be a good compliment to my new (but not yet delivered) system. I was not familiar with Feisol but the specs looked like just what I wanted at a very reasonable price. I must confess that I have not yet taken the tripod out into the field, but was impressed with the quality of the build, the simple straight forward thoughtful design and by comparing the ease of setup, adjustment and carry to my old carbon fiber Manfrotto. The ball head seems very solid with knobs that have a smooth positive feel. I have had some experience in lugging a tripod around for over 30 years and am confident that the Feisol will meet all my expectations. One nice ergonomic design detail: with the tripod folded it is just about perfectly balanced when gripped between the foam rubber leg covering and the top twist lock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It fits my needs exactly. I needed a solid carbon fiber tripod that I could pack on day hikes. The CT-3441S is perfect because it comes with a hook on the center column to hang my pack for extra rock solid stability.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Could Be Better I bought this tripod for when I travel, as my other one is heavier. I had a hard time learning to use the controls of this one (ball head). It would help if companies today shipped decent manuals with their products! I don't know if it's me, but the legs seem to spread really wide apart or quite close together. I haven't found a way to get them in between. On the plus side, it is lightweight and I managed to get it in my suitcase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Travel Tripod - Feisol or Gitzo? I recently purchased the Feisol travel tripod after doing some research and evaluation of both the Gitzo and the Feisol travel tripods. I ended up purchasing the Feisol and I believe I made the best decision. Here are the reasons for my decisions: 1) the Feisol is about 1/2 the price of the Gitzo (although price was not the main reason), 2) I felt that the standard ball head on the Gitzo would have to be upgraded as it does NOT come with a tension control; Gitzo does have a ball head for this tripod with a tension control but it is not standard (the standard ball head on the Feisol does have a tension control), 3) the Feisol travel tripod is rated to handle more weight and I found it to be a bit sturdier than the Gitzo (when comparing side by side) while its weight is about the same, 4) finally, the Feisol provides a bit more height than the Gitzo. Overall, for me, the Feisol is the superior product although the Gitzo tripod is a quality product.
