Does this item Feisol SP-ST steel spike fit this model version Feisel CM-1471 that you sell? The rubber foot in this picture of the CM-1471 monopod appears to be smaller than what I've seen of this same item CM-1471 on other websites.

Would this monopod be sturdy and/or comfortable enough to use as a hiking stick? I'm of average weight (170 lbs) and conditioning, but have enough miles on my knees that I like to hike with hiking poles, and use them extensively to heave myself up steps. Current setup of juggling two poles and a camera handheld is rediculous. Would be awesome to use a monopod and quick detach head as a hiking stick with my camera in my cotton carrier, and pop it on and off when I want to take steadier shots, assuming the pole is sturdy enough and the grip with strap is comfortable enough for pushing off of. I realize a monopod may not be meant for that, but it can't be any less durable than my cheapo poles.
Hi Christopher B. While I have no feel for low cost hiking poles, my CM-1471 is built like a tank. It is solid, tight and light. The twist locks work very well and I have experienced no slipping other than a slight bit if I really lean onto it. That really locks it up and takes a bit more than normal strength and care to free it up. Since I don't use mine in hostile climates as I would have years ago (retired archaeologist) I can't say how the carbon fiber or foam grip would hold up in extreme circumstances. On the negative side, I have a medium size hand and find the grip size a bit too large and uncomfortable for me to use on a constant basis such as a hiking pole. Other than that, I find it to be the perfect monopod for me and use it to shoot everything from a small point and shooter up to one of my D size pro cameras. All that said, I would recommend that you order one, test it out in your living room and make your decision. I did.Have a Blessed dayDennis

how do you switch from 3/8 to 1/4 male thread ?
I have a tilt head and clamp plate installed, so I cant see the mounting stud now, but I believe there is a 2-sided stud (1/4 and 3/8 ) with a nut in the center. Use a socket to unfasten and then turn the stud around and re--fasten. A box end wrench would probably work too. This is a fairly standard configuration for most monopods and tripods.

is there a stand for this? I was searching around for a monopod with feet and discovered a couple of Bento stands which don't fit the Feisol.
Tabletop Mini Tripod, Cayer 3 Feet SV3 Alumunium Tripod Stand for Monopods is the one I use with my Feisol 1471.It is very solid and supports about 30Ibs.It also has a solid ball head.I bought mine at Amazon.

What is the thread in the foot of this monopod? Would you be able to screw in a conventional 3/8 camera screw/tripod into it?
The thread for the spike is M16X2.0, so unfortunately it will not directly fit a 3/8 mount.
