FEISOL CT-3472 Overview

The Feisol CT-3472 Center Column Kit delivers variable extra height to your existing Feisol CT-3472 Elite Tripod. In addition to a center column, this kit includes an accessory weight hook, a center column mount, and a mounting screw removal tool. The 16.5" long center column is designed to be both strong and light weight, and even at maximum extension the 0.90 lb carbon fiber column remains stable and secure.

The CT-3472 center column has a one piece design, which allows it to provide approximately 13.7" of extra height to your CT-3472 tripod, yet still pack up compactly for transport or storage. The 3.1" mounting platform with its reversible 3/8" / 1/4"-20 mounting screw allows you flexibility in attaching Still Photo tripod heads.

Not much to say more. B&H's shipping was super fast, the Feisol line is just great, and this column will be of use in the field. So far I can't see even a hint of oscillation added by using the column. Recommended highly.

Very stable center column

I was surprised and delighted to see this center column when it arrived as the diameter of the tubing is much larger than one usually sees in a tripod center column. As a result of its increased diameter it is very stiff and even with a 12 lb camera and lens mounted on the head it provides excellent support. I thought at first that it would add two inches to the collapsed length of the CT-3472 legs but then I realized that the legs can be folded up and around the head and when this is done the total length of the tripod with the column and a ballhead mounted is only 19 inches. What I love about the CT-3472 legs is that I can change out the standard base plate for the quick leveling head or add the center column and have new functionality at very little cost. With Feisol I find that I get comparable build quality and performance to my Really Right Stuff and Gitzo legs but at a fraction of the cost and with the gain in inexpensive options to modify the tripod for my needs.

Can I use this kit on the FEISOL CT-3372? I prefer the shorter column on this compared to the CT-3372 Center Column Kit.

Hi Michael, there is no problem with using the shorter CT-3472CCKit with your CT-3372 Tripod. I would not suggest going longer than the recommended Column, but shorter is almost always all right.
