FEISOL LB-7567 Reviews

Well Integrated with Tripod Table. Good Value.

I like the fact that this replaces the central part of the existing tripod table and 3/8 screw, rather than being placed on top, keeping height elevation to a minimum. Construction is solid, adjustment easily controlled and lockup is tight. As mentioned by others, a hook for hanging a weight that might help self-centering, would have been appreciated. My camera has fore-aft and side to side leveling lines in the viewfinder, so proper alignment could be achieved with the ballhead alone. This leveling base with its bubble level will be most useful for stitching panoramas. The only drawback is that it adds a pound of weight to an otherwise very light tripod. I'll have to wait and see if its utility justifies the weight increase.

Could use improvement

The leveling base does what it is supposed to but there are two design shortcoming that would use improvement. First is that there is no way to attach a hook to the bottom of the handle to weight the tripod. This is an obvious shortcoming when shooting in windy conditions. The hook would also act to speed up the level process as a significant amount of mass would cause the base to self level. The other shortcoming is the fact that this raises the ball head enough to make it so you can't fold the legs back over the head of the tripod.

Will this work with other tripods with 75mm ...

Will this work with other tripods with 75mm bowls? The Robus tripods, for example?
Asked by: Michael
The 75mm bowl of the LV-7567 doubles as the mount for the Leveling Base so, in most cases, you will not be able to use the LV-7567 bowl with different makes of tripods. We have not tested the Leveling Base with different makers' bowls but there is a good chance that you could use the rest of the LV-7567, as long as the bottom opening of the bowl is at least 30mm in diameter.

question

Can you not use a center column with this leveling base?
Asked by: joni
The Leveling Base replaces the center column. It is my default setup for tripod mount.
