  • CR-39 Dyed Resin
  • Subtle Gradation across the Filter Plane
  • Compatible with Lucroit 165mm Holder
This 165 x 200mm Hitech ND Blender Filter is a graduated neutral density filter providing a smooth dense to clear transition across the entire filter plane. This filter enables you to properly expose brighter areas of the image while compensating for darker areas. The subtle gradation from clear to maximum density means these filters do not have a hard separation line between the dense and clear areas, thus providing a more natural appearance and not requiring you to hide the grad line within the image.

Essentially just a plastic 0.9 ND filter

The actual filter does not look like the image shown. It is a constant 0.9 ND filter until about an inch from the clear edge. It then rapidly fades to clear. Another thing, If you dont mind using your fairly expensive filter holder to put a plastic filter in front of your high dollar lens, then you may like this filter. Me, not so much. The only positive thing I can say is that if you drop this, it wont shatter. It will get scratched beyond use though, so not much of an advantage.

My first large format filter

This is probably the largest filter size for 135 lenses. A CD, or DVD, or BD is 120mm of diameter. I can barely hold it by its rims to not smudge the surface. Usually you don't need this large unless you have Canon's wide angle TS-E lenses. This might be the only one works when the lenses are shifted. One complaint I have is that I couldn't find filter pouch large enough to hold multiple of these filters. Now I have to store them in their original packaging, which may make these resin filters susceptible to scratches.
