Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good cart in general, but needs upgrades Because I shoot a lot on location, I needed a cart that had big wheels. The plus: can carry a lot of gear. The minus: is not balanced out well, due to the placement of the axle - which decision was made because this cart is also a seat. With load, the cart tips towards the back (away from you) and the handle is way to short to balance this. There is an attachment available for this cart to elongate the handle - which I will get. I am using bungees to keep the load in place. I transported two Profoto 7b's, two light stands, two Profoto heads, and the cables over 2 miles of hiking trail to a shooting location. If you need to transport gear over larger distances in so-so terrain, then this is your only option. I checked out all the other carts, and those carts with 2 axles would have gotten stuck on that hiking trail. The second thing to be aware of is that you are storing the items on a seat that is not flat. You need several bungee cords to secure your load. You will need bags that stack well on top of each other. The pneumatic wheels are big, wide, and are better than the hard wheels on most carts that transmit any shock of uneven terrain onto the gear. Bottom line: not an ideal choice, but for difficult terrain it's the only option available. PS: the seat is actually comfortable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tubed Tires a Problem I was disappointed to find that the Beach Rolly Cart had tubed tires when it arrived, and sure enough I had a flat tire the first time I used it, but first things first. Assembly was a piece of cake, but inflating the tires was difficult, as it is very hard to attach the clamp on type air pump fittings onto the air valves. The valves are recessed in a small pocket in the tire rim, and the pocket is so small that it is almost impossible to get the pump hose connected to the valve. If you have the old style bike pump with the screw on fitting you probably won't have a problem. The second day I used the cart out I discovered that one of the tires was flat. The tire wouldn't take any air, so I searched for and found a new tube at Lowe's. To remove the tube the tire rim must be taken apart, and that requires a metric hex wrench and a metric thin walled socket. After taking apart the wheel I discovered that the tube had a one inch rupture next to the valve stem. I have no idea how this happened, as I had only used it one time on a level and smooth boardwalk. The flat was found the very next morning. So, I learned that I must carry a tire repair kit and pump along on future outings. I wish they had supplied the cart with solid tires.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from After several years of use: love this cart After several years of use I give the cart 5 stars as I really love it. Nothing broke. A German quality product. I am surprised that this lightweight construction is so sturdy. For this kind of reliability I am willing to pay a higher price. If you need to transport gear into hard to access terrain this is the best cart. The tires stay inflated for a long time and only need a pump every ten months or so. I am glad these are air filled tires on big wheels - great traction and can deal with uneven terrain. Only once I ran into a bit of a problem when I pulled the cart along a narrow path with brush reaching in - this brushwork pulled off the locking pin and the wheel came off. I searched quite a while until I found it (literally a needle in a haystack) so I recommend to Eckla to add a back-up pin to the cart when you sell it. How to better balance the cart when fully loaded: Originally I rated this cart 4 stars, because of problems of balance when it is full and because the handle is too short for tall people. I got around that problem by placing sandbags (which I transport anyway with this cart) over the top part of the backrest (where the cotton ends). This shifts the weight towards the front and balances the cart better and it lets you pull the cart with a more upright handle. I had a problem with the fabric developing holes, but Eckla sent me a replacement. This company is very good and takes customer service seriously.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great cart Had it for a few days and already discovered it is a great cart. I did a pretty long trail which was rather narrow and the cart (and I ) did the job. I was carrying 2 cameras, super teles and a few other lenses. It was easy to assemble and it is solid. I recommend buying the net from the same company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eckla Dolly Exellent product!, have 2 of this for my 3 formats that don't want to carry on my back. My equipment weighs about 20 lbs, and can haul my large, medium and small format photo gear + my camping gear with Eckla almost anywhere, from airports to mountains. It's a very good investment for not injuring your lower back. As always BH Photo rushed to deliver it right on time before my travel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! Have used once as a plein air painting equipment holder, while huge, it got the job done with ease. Wonderful, it went over many surfaces; dirt paths, asphalt, uneven terrain. It had a challenge in deep gravel, but so did walking with boots on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pack it up and get Rolling! I had thought about buying the Beach Rolly Cart a year ago. Wish I had done it sooner, it works great. Used it four times in the past two weeks on the beach for some shorebird photography. The cargo net is a must IMO.
