Steiner 4961 Overview

From Manufacturer

The 7x50 Commander Global Binoculars with Compass from Steiner are a serious boating instrument. They are built for a lifetime of rough seafaring environments, with simply brilliant optical and mechanical performance that lasts and lasts.

Continuing upon Steiner's 7x50 class, the most important innovation with the Commander Global is a precise global compass specially designed for the needs of yacht owners in international waters. No calibrating or adjusting is necessary. The integrated electronic magnetic field measurement ensures precise readings anywhere in the world. The compass lens is extremely rugged thanks to the Makrolon housing.

Precision lenses and an innovative high-tech Diamond-Marine-Coating offers superb optical performance and light transmission combined with the Sports-Auto-Focus. The Commander Global has an optical coating on the objective and eyepieces called NANO Protection. This hydrophobic coating repels moisture and dirt, leaving lenses clear. Like a windshield wiper for your binoculars, you'll find that you'll rarely need to wipe them clean.

The Steiner Commander Global is nitrogen purged and externally sealed, with each unit individually submerged to assure waterproofing. They are tested to resist water pressure down to a depth of almost 33 feet / 10 meters.

AAoV of 52.2®
Temperature range of -40 to 176°F
Ratchet mechanism of the memory ocular stores personal diopter setting
Slip-proof NBR long-life rubber armoring is resistant to the effects of oil, acid or weathering
Diamond-Marine-Coating permits light transmission over the entire color spectrum
Global illuminated compass with integrated electronic magnetic field measurement ensuring precise readings anywhere in the world
ComfortGrip System and Technogel thumb depressions afford comfortable handling for a considerably longer period of observing
Included comfortable Clic-Loc neck strap as well as a Float Strap which prevent the binoculars from sinking if dropped in the water
Sports Auto-Focus system allows individual eye focus from 20 yards to infinity without having to make any more eyepiece adjustments after the first focus
High-definition and high-contrast optics provides first-class light transmission and distinctly visible contours even in poor light conditions
"NANO-Coat" hydrophobic external eyepiece & objective lens coatings gives the lenses a dirt and water repellent surface protecting them from rain, snow and moisture
ErgoFlex-Eye Cups are made of non-irritating, non-ageing silicone providing a naturally comfortable feeling on the eyes that can also be adjusted three ways by simply folding it over
