Dead-Hold BDC Reticle
Customized compensating reticle subtensions minimize guesswork on holdover and wind drift corrections, ideal for shooting at ranges where calculating accurate bullet drop is essential.
Anti-Reflective Lens Coating
Fully multicoated optics and an additional anti-reflective coating on the objective and the ocular lenses ensure transmission of bright detail-rich images throughout the entire magnification range.
Rugged Construction
The one-piece aerospace aluminum housing is anodized for a durable non-reflective finish. Optical elements are held in place by machined locking rings that ensure perfect lens alignment even after intense recoil and rapid fire. Additionally, the interior is nitrogen purged and o-ring sealed, preventing driving rain and extreme humidity from fogging the optics.
VIP Unconditional Warranty
This unlimited, unconditional, fully transferable, hassle free warranty is almost unheard of in the optics industry. Whether damaged by the owner or a manufacturing defect, Vortex Optics will repair or replace the scope at no charge.

Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 Reviews

Fails in early morning sun

Early morning hunts when sun is coming up, the scope will not focus. Thought it was fog on the lens but no. Works fine once sun gets a little higher but by then a number of deer has passed that I wasn't able to glass.

I own several

I fell in love with Vortex after buying my first one. I now own at least 8 of them. Personally, I like the Crossfire II better than the Diamondback, but that's just me. I also own one of their binoculars. I have had to use their warranty two times over the past 8-10 years and all was handled very quickly and with no questions asked. One time a lens came loose in the binocs and one time a tube was bent on a Crossfire II, both times the warranty folks did a very quick turn around for me. I used to be an "L" guy, but now I am a Vortex guy. Great quality at a very fair price!

question

Does this scope works on a high power air rifle ? I just read that air rifles recoil is doubled due to the spring movement. I am concerned that my Gamo G-Magnum 1250 will break this scope in a short time. Do you think it works well and can live with this type of rifle ?
Asked by: Rima A.
No, it will not work. The recoil of your air rifle is not the same as that of a high powered centerfire rifle. Scopes made for high end (powerful) air rifles have sual spring mounts internally to absorb recoil of an air rifle, much different from a centerfire rifle. A conventional centerfire scope will be ruined quickly on an air rifle, they are not designed for the type of recoil an air rifle produces. They are specifically engineered for centerfire recoil (this includes rimfire scopes also), not the type of recoil produced by an air rifle. So, long answer short: NO, do not use a centerfire scope on your air rifle, you'll turn it into an expensive paperweight.
