The 8x42 Razor HD Binocular from Vortex is smaller, lighter, brighter, and stronger than ever before. It is a versatile optic that is ideal for multiple applications from close to long-distance observation. Its lightweight construction and high optical performance make it an extremely desirable viewing instrument.

The binocular renders views in high contrast with accurate color through the use of high-density (HD) extra-low dispersion (ED) glass, an apochromatic lens configuration, XR Plus lens coatings, and dielectric and phase-correcting prism coatings, which raise the level of optical excellence for this roof prism binocular. The benefits include excellence in color sharpness, coating durability, overall performance, increased resolution, color fidelity, clarity, brightness, and greater light transmission. Additional lens protection from scratches, oil, and dust is provided by the ArmorTek exterior lens coating.

The Razor HD is argon filled and sealed with O-rings to ensure reliable and durable protection against dust, debris, fog, and water. It is rubber armored for non-slip and durable protection, and is equipped with a large focusing knob that is easy to use even while wearing gloves. Naturally contoured to perfectly fit your hands, promoting comfort and eliminating user fatigue, with the Razor HD Vortex has once again created a winning combination of features.

Razor HD 8x42 Binocular is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny! I’ve been using Leupold Binos for the past 10 years but this deer season I decided to upgrade, and when I went to look for a new set I went back to Leupold because I have been happy with them. The salesman suggested I take a look at vortex. I had my doughts switching brands but he let me take both out to field test before I made my decision. Boy was I pleasantly surprised by how much clearer and sharper the vortex glass was. There was a clear difference in quality. Vortex ran about $200 more but I’d pay that for the quality every day now. I’m sold on vortex and there warranty is second to none! Thank you vortex for changing my hunts for the better for years to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing quality and unbeatable price! I bought a pair of the Razor 12x50s without ever having looked through a pair. I was nothing short of impressed when I put them to use. Colors pop, images are sharp and clear, they're light and rugged. A very well made binocular that is on the same playing field as European glass for half the price with a better warranty! I've put these to use in New Mexico shed antler hunting, pronghorn hunting, mule deer hunting, elk hunting, oryx (gemsbok) hunting , and have even used them to spot fish in clear streams. These binos have never let me down once and are always up to the task! Can't wait to pair them up with a razor spotting scope for the ultimate combination!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size, incredible clarity, gathers light! As a hunting guide, I have put many hours on these glasses and have enjoyed them for every second! I have not gotten any eye fatigue when sitting and glassing with these binos for long periods of time. In Alaska, glassing for Brown Bears, I never get tired of having these up to my eyes for the majority of the day. They fit perfect in my hands and up to my eyes. The field of view is large and the clarity of the glass extends all the way out to the outer edge of the field of view. Best of all, low light conditions are not an issue with these binoculars. They gather a ton of light during those key time periods at sun up and sun down, to give me that slight advantage. I don't see how anyone could be disappointed with these glasses!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid, Sharp, High-Quality Binoculars for about $ I have tried Bushnell Legend M's, Vortex Viper HD's and Vortex Razor HD's. The Razors are the ones I will be keeping due to the wide IPD range and high-end APO glass. Focusing is buttery-smooth, optics are sharp and these binoculars feel solid and rugged. The lifetime no-fault warranty makes them a no-brainer for anyone looking for binoculars at the $ mark. There are a few that are better, but then again, those binocs (Swaro, for example) start at $ and easily approach $ for roughly the same optical quality. The only reason I am giving the Razors 4 stars instead of 5 is because the cheaper Viper HD's feel better and more balanced in my hands. The Vipers have inferior optics compared to the Razors, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Razor Sharp Images After more than a year researching my best option in a new set of binoculars, I chose the Vortex Razor HD 10x50. In side by side, daylight comparisons with my Bushnell Elites and my son's Fujinons the Razor's clearly have a sharper, brighter image and with more vivid color. Although I have made no side by side comparison they do have excellent light gathering at dusk and dawn while still producing exceptionally clear images at or just inside the tree line. Be sure your rifle scope is of the same high end quality or you might find yourself missing the shot of a lifetime. With the lifetime warranty, I just can't see where one could go wrong with these. As for myself, I know I made the right decision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Buy Birding Binocs The Vortex Razor HD 8x42 is totally meeting my birding expectations. I did a side by side comparison with Leica and Swaroffski's 8x42's. They certainly have fine optics but have relative disadvantages of weight, close vision at 6', and price. Razor clarity compares well with both and the feel-in-hand of the Razors is superior. I wear glasses with a strong prescription and have had no difficulty adjusting the Razors to the eye relief I need. The Vortex guarantee is the best. I know someone who shut a car door on their pair and Vortex replaced the pair for no cost even after though it was several years old. The Razors are replacing my Leica compact 10x25 which are wonderful for hiking but have poor field of vision for birding and do not have clarity for shaded viewing. I campared the Vortex Razors to Vortex Vipers - the Razors are worth the extra price for birding or butterfly watching in the field. The Vipers might do well for occasionasl viewing close to home. I do recommend the Razors. I called B&H to inquire about the Razors and had excellent service about the product and shipping. Standard shipping was quite fast and there was no charge for tax or shipping which made the price even more competitive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down best binos without the sticker shock Love them! They are hands down one of the best binos in the Business. Absolutely love them I cannot distinguish any difference between them and Swarvoski which are two times to three times the cost. They are hands-down the clearest optic on the market out there. And the VIP warranty doesn’t make me worried when I take them out that somethings going to happen and I can’t replace them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phenomenal clarity and color Purchased these binos specifically for big game hunting. The diopter allows you to initially focus each eyepiece individually which makes images even more clear. The amount of detail that these binos pickup at extended distances is amazing. I find that with the 12x magnification, I can seen more detail at distance vs a 15x magnification due to the color clarity and contrast. This advantage becomes even more obvious in low-light conditions when other binos' images start to fade. Well worth the money if you want the best image clarity and definition available without spending twice the amount to get minimal returns. Plus with Vortex's unlimited warranty, hard to beat!
