Key Features
  • SVGA resolutions up to 800 x 600
  • Minimum Illumination of 1 Lux
  • Multiple H.264 & Motion JPEG Streams
  • Power over Ethernet (PoE)
The P8513C Eye-Level Covert Network Camera (Chrome) from Axis Communications is specifically designed for quick installation at an optimized height of 5.2' (160 cm). The camera comes pre-installed inside a pipe with a 4.3' (1.3 m) pre-mounted Ethernet cable and female connector for transmission of power and data. The height indicator decal (included) helps hide the camera pinhole, making the camera invisible to the eye and safe from any tampering attempts. Because the Covert Camera is mounted at eye-level, it captures sharp and identifiable images of a person’s face even if they are wearing a hood or baseball cap. The Eye-level Covert Camera makes it an ideal surveillance solution for indoor applications such as retail, healthcare, and banking segments.

Axis Communications P8513 Overview

Featuring a 1/4" progressive scan RGB CMOS sensor, the camera delivers crisp and clear images at 30 fps at SVGA resolutions up to 800 x 600. For video compression, the Network Camera transmits multiple streams in an H.264 and MJPEG video formats at full frame rates or individually optimized for different quality needs and bandwidth constraints. Minimum illumination of 1 lux at f/1.8 ensures clear images in bright light and low light conditions. Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) function is used to correct extreme lighting environments marked by high-contrast and harsh backlit scenes. Backlight compensation increases the brightness of the subjects in the frame, giving you true-to-life video footage

A unique feature of this camera is its pixel counter function, which calculates the number of pixels contained in a given part of the image, for example a person's face. This is an important feature for satisfying certain jurisdictions requiring proof of resolution before an image can be submitted for evidence.

The Chrome P8513C Network Camera easily blends in with your décor and can operate in environments with a temperature range of 32 to 122°F (0 to 50°C).

Camera is disguised in a 2" (50.8 mm) diameter pipe that has a pre-mounted Ethernet cable for transmission of power and data
1/4" RGB CMOS sensor along with 3 - 8mm varifocal DC-iris lens, delivers clear and crisp images at SVGA resolution
Progressive scan technology delivers blur free images at 30 fps
Minimum illumination of 1 lux ensures clear images in bright light and low light conditions
Image settings include compression, brightness, exposure control, rotation, mirroring of images, text and image overlay, and privacy masking
Wide Dynamic Range technology corrects extreme lighting environments marked by high-contrast and harsh backlit scenes
Backlight compensation increases the brightness of the subjects in the frame, giving you true-to-life video footage
Video motion detection feature compares the current frame with a pre-determined standard frame to accurately trigger an alarm if motion is detected. You can also send email notifications when motion is detected or upload via FTP or HTTP with pre and post alarm video buffering
API (Application Program Interface) supports an open API for software integration, including the VAPIX and Axis Camera Application Platform from Axis Communications
Quality of Service (QoS) to maximize network efficiency
Password Protection restricts access to unauthorized persons
IP Filtering restricts access to one or more user groups; user groups can be created with an IP address range being defined for each group
Digest Authentication uses a system where the network server authenticates a user request through a domain controller and then grants access to authorized users only
User Access Log - maintains a log of all the users that were granted access to the camera image data on the network
HTTPS (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol over SSL) protects streaming data transmission across the network
