The STX828S Passive Dual 18" Bass Reflex Subwoofer by JBL is a high-power low frequency system capable of handling 2,000W of continuous power. It's rated at 4,000W of program power and 8,000W of peak handling. The dual 18" Super Vented Gap Cooled woofers are front-loaded into the vented enclosure. The system offers input connection flexibility for compatibility with a variety of cabling schemes. A recessed, external switch allows selection of either contacts +1/-1 or +2/-2. By relocating an internal connector, it is also possible to drive each woofer discretely from a separate amplifier.
The STX828S enclosure is constructed of birch/poplar laminate plywood, coated in JBL's rugged DuraFlex finish and is heavily braced to maximize low-frequency performance. The CNC-machined, 14-gauge steel grille is internally lined with acoustically transparent cloth to provide additional driver protection and give a professional appearance.
