Canon iPF815 Overview

The imagePROGRAF iPF815 MFP from Canon is a complete print and scan-to-copy/file/email solution designed to meet the demands and accuracy for CAD and other design-based applications. The printer uses Canon's 5-tank ink cartridge system with a 15,360-nozzle printhead to produce documents up to 36.0" wide on a wide range of media. The printer's high dpi, small 4.0 pl ink drop, and ±0.1% line accuracy is ideal for producing detail-oriented technical documents such as CAD drawings and maps, as well as borderless posters, photos, and prints.

The unit has its own 32 GB dedicated file processing memory as well as 384 MB of RAM. Even when printing large, complex documents printing and scanning won't slow down your computer. In addition to a USB connection, the printer includes an Ethernet interface so you can easily share the iPF815 with your entire team. The printer's powerful software suite helps you get the most out of your iPF815 with media management tools, automatic media switching, page nesting, preset document profiles, and color adjustment. Even though the printer can handle large complex documents, it's still easy enough to print standard documents, photos, and posters from any computer on the connected network. The large 130-ml ink tanks translate into a lower cost-per-print regardless of the size of your document.

Having a scanner and computer interface built into your CAD printer facilitates scanning and copying large CAD drawings, as well as documents, posters, and photos. The integrated LCD panel provides the ability to scan, copy, and edit documents right on the iPF815 without the extra step of transferring the file to a computer.

The built-in 160GB hard drive is perfect for storing scanned as well as commonly printed files so you can print files not only from your computer, but also from the printer itself. Additionally, storing files on the printer itself means that other users connected to the printer can access shared files from their own workstations.

The imagePROGRAF MFP provides room to scan plain paper documents up to 41" wide (40" image width), max thickness 0.012" (0.3 mm) by any length. It's unique paper path returns documents to the front, allowing for a space saving design with front-accessible operation for flush wall installation

Productivity: Print Longer Without Interruption
Canon's unique sub-ink tank system means you can replace ink on-the-fly without stopping the printer. Choose extra large 700ml ink tanks for even greater productivity. For long print runs, a high-capacity media basket comes standard with the iPF815. Add the optional high-capacity stacker for even greater print yields when printing on plain paper

The optional stacker provides a flat surface to offload prints and eliminates the need for operator handling. Built for high productivity, this stacker automatically picks up documents of mixed document sizes and stacks them up to 300 sheets

Precision Printing: High-Density Print Head
Engineered for advanced image production, the iPF815 boasts Canon's latest print-head technology to lay down ink with unprecedented speed and accuracy. The iPF815 uses a high-precision, high-density print head with a total of 15,360 nozzles to lay down 4 picoliter-size ink droplets that produce sharp detail and excellent image quality. The result is consistently accurate 2400 x 1200 dpi output with fine lines that are accurate to ± 0.10% and as thin as 0.02mm
160 GB Hard Drive
A built-in 160 GB hard drive within the printer increases productivity by relieving workload from the host PC, while providing a large capacity for print job data storage, and retrieval. This 160 GB hard drive enables job data to be stored in protected mailboxes for easy access via web browser or at the printer for job re-printing. The embedded hard disk is ideal for medium to large workgroups to share a printer efficiently with multiple users, offering ample job storage space
Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager serves as a powerful feature, used for accurate management of printing costs and other information that is increasingly important in today's economic environment. With Accounting Manager feature you can track how much ink and paper is being consumed when printing large format output. Costs can be assigned to the ink and paper to determine expenses based on your own "Cost of goods". Each individual ink tank can have its own cost associated to it, as well as a variety of different paper types. The user can also input a variable cost that will be added to the total of the print cost. The data is exportable to a .csv format for Microsoft Excel so the data can be used for billing purposes. This feature will allow you to determine the cost of each print based on your actual cost

Reactive Ink System
