The B+W 82mm MRC 702M Soft-Edge Graduated Neutral Density 0.6 Filter helps to darken specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. A neutral density filter with a soft-edged line of transition is particularly useful for images that do not have a strongly defined transition between the sky and the foreground. The design of this filter incorporates a rotating mount to allow for precise positioning of the gradation along the horizon line. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and the density provides up to a 2-stop reduction in light from entering the lens.

To prevent internal ghosting and reflections while maximizing light transmission, each glass surface includes eight layers of anti-reflection coating. This Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) also offers greater protection to the filter substrate and helps it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters.

This B+W filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity and color fidelity. An F-Pro brass filter ring is provided for durability as well as jamming prevention.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great filter! I love B+W filters, you get what you pay for with these high quality filters. Experimenting my first day out with my new Graduated ND Filter, I took photographs of a beautiful shaded pond beneath a bright blue evening sky. As would be expected, I could not record the large range of light from the shadowed pond to the bright blue sky with either my Circular Polarizer or Solid ND Filters. The Graduated ND filter enabled me to capture the scene with detail throughout the frame, retaining detail in the shadows plus rich blus color in the bright sky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Sunrise/Sunset Photos I pre-ordered the new Nikkor 24-77 mm f2.8E ED VR. I needed a whole new set of filters for the 82 mm diameter of this lens. I like to use GND filters instead of HDR for sunrise/sunset photos. I guess it's a throw back to film photography techniques. I always use B+W filters. Great glass, brass more durable than aluminum.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is my third purchase of this filter I almost never take this off of my Canon EF16-35 f2.8L lens. The only reason I have bought 3 of these is because I am a klutz and have so far managed to shatter two of them by accident. Excellent piece of glass with no vignetting and if I break this one I will buy it again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from optically appears perfect This round filter is very high quality as expected from this company. I failed to understand the catalogue add as round. The pictured effect is rectangular and I hoped to receive a rectangular filter for my landscape work with a frame holder.
