OverBoard OB1001 Reviews

A joke, apparently.

This is NOT “waterproof” in any stretch of the imagination. There is no top closure, So, If this goes overboard, EVERYTHING in is not only getting wet, it is drowning all the way to the bottom because it’s nothing more than a pliable bucket. Maybe mine is missing something, I mean beyond it’s advertised purpose. One star because that is the least amount possible and it will serve as a carrying bag—just not as a waterproof one as advertised.

Does its job well

what can i say it floats the inside is reasonably dry and the yellow color is very easy to spot. I tested it by throwing it on my pool when we had 2 nights of rain and it floated and was plenty dry inside. Since then it has protected camera, wallet and keys on numerous kayak trips kayaks are never completely dry but no problems with it.

Excellent for short photo trips.

I use this to store my camera housing, telephoto, wide angle, 18-55mm, and nifty fifty when I do kayak trips. be careful not to overfill it, or else it won't be submersion safe, but even if it's overfilled it's completely splash safe.

Not exactly what I thought it was

It's waterproof but not float-able and that's what I needed.

Great waterproof bag. Not too big and easy to carry around and store valuables while in wet places. I like the strap that it comes with so it can easily be slung over the shoulder.

Well Im sure the company OB offers a much larger bag, sorry I bought this one; can't fit anything worthwhile in it unless I wanted to keep a roll of toilet tissue dry.

can't wait to use it!

the Dry bag came quickly in the mail and with a quick test at home, it seems to work great! I can't wait to use it on my next hike!

question

Will my Canon Eos SL1 with neoprene fitted case fit in this bag?
Asked by: Diani A.
Yes, I believe so. My Canon 70D would fit easily in the bag. I don't know how much the neoprene would add to size of your camera...

question

Do you think it will fit a Nikon D810 with a Nikon 200-500?
Asked by: Jorge C.
I'm not familiar with that lens. It sounds like it's big. I can get my Canon T4i in the bag with a 55-250 lens and my two short lenses in a padded inner bag I use. It would be tight with a full frame body/lens. You need to leave space to roll the bag down to stay water tight.

question

Is this bag waterproof enough to go into the waves for a quick dive?
Asked by: Ran I.
This bag has been good for me so far and air tight (folded 3 times). As a test, I stuffed it with my keys, wallet, phone, a shirt, and a pair of shorts, then I threw it overboard of the boat and then jumped in to grab it. I put the strap over my shoulder and swam to shore. Amazingly everything stayed dry!!! I was happy since I was brave enough to put my keys and phone in the bag. I was in a big bay about 200 yards out. It's a good bag. I recommend it.

question

Can I use this bag to limit condensation if I take a camera from the cold outdoors into a warm room?
Asked by: Anonymous
Hi, yes, I do think it would limit condensation. I assume you will bag the camera (both being cold) then bring it to a warmer environment. You would need to let it stay in the bag until it warms close to room temp (which would be hard to tell) so you may have to test how long a very cold camera needs to stay in it before removing. Maybe 20 min? 30 min?Good luck.
