The 77 mm UV and IR Cut Filter from Hoya is a lens filter that, when attached to your lens, permits only the visible spectrum of light rays to enter the camera and get captured by the sensor. It blocks out both the higher frequency ultraviolet rays, and lower frequency infrared light rays. This is important to digital photographers because the CCD and CMOS sensors found in our cameras are extremely susceptible to catching UV and IR rays just outside the visible spectrum that have a very negative impact on image quality.

Has anyone used this in combination with a pro mist filter? If so, what are the effects?
I use the UV and IR cut filter on my Pocket 6k to get rid of IR pollution when shooting with ND's. I also use it with 1/4 BPM and it works perfectly.

On a converted full spectrum camera will this filter allow the use of the cameras standard auto white balance, or will a custom white balance be necessary each time you attach the filter to get accurate color results?
as long as your converted full spectrum camera doesn't change the white balance, this filter should not alter the information

Has anyone tried this on a full spectrum camera? I have a Nikon D7000 that’s converted to full spectrum and I’m looking for a filter to revert it back to visible spectrum when the need arises. Looking to see how the results are before I pull the trigger.
Unfortunately, we're not aware of any tests that have been performed with this particular filter on a camera which has been converted for full spectrum use. Your results may vary.

Has anyone combined a Hoya 77mm uv and ir cut filter with a circular polarizer on a 24-105 canon l series is lens using a 5D Mark III, if you have what were the results? Thank you very much before I buy the pair of filters.
We are not aware of any issues that combo would create.

While not listed, the industry standard for still photo filter glass (not the ring) is a nominal 2 mm and this most likely is what this is. Cinema filters is a nominal 4 mm.

will this filter work on a Canon 400mm f5.6 lens? will the filter interfere with the bayonet hood on the lens?
If you are referring to this lens, Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens, you should be fine using that filter with the hood.

Hello, I've read a review telling that when using a UV/IR filter on WIDE Angle Lenses the image can be compromised: the interference varies with the angle of incidence of the light on the glass. This renders this filter unusable with wide-angle and even normal focal lenses, resulting in a greenish gradient from the center to the corners. - This was posted for the 72mm version of another brand's filterQ: Has someone else experienced this problem on Full Frame or APS-C DSLRs with Wide Angle Lenses like 16mm ?Thank you very much in advance!
I have seen this when I use it on a Tokina 11-16mm on an aps-c sensor. And to a lesser degree on the wider (shorter) end of my Sigma 18-35mm. The frame gets greener as you get closer to the far edge. I have been able to correct it out in DaVinci Resolve however. So I can live with it.
