The Axis Communications M3114-R Network Camera (2mm Lens, M12 Connector) is a rugged IP camera that is fully EN50155 compliant making it suitable for use in transportation applications, such as buses, trains, subway cars, and emergency vehicles. With an IK10- and IP66/IP67-rating, the M3114-R Camera is rugged enough to withstand vibrations, shocks, bumps, and temperature fluctuations (-13 to 122° F / -25 to 50° C), maintaining stable and reliable video.
An integrated dehumidifying membrane keeps the viewing window from fogging up in high humidity. The camera also has the ability to activate an alarm when it senses the lens being blocked, spray painted or otherwise tampered with.
Built into the camera are a number of picture controls serving to help the camera cope with challenging lighting conditions. Chief among them are backlight compensation and wide dynamic range, both of which will aid the camera in maintaining proper exposure levels in extreme lighting situations. The camera's progressive scan imager ensures blur-free images for scenes with fast moving objects.
A unique feature of this camera is its pixel counter function, which calculates the number of pixels contained in a given part of the image, for example a person's face. This is an important feature for satisfying certain jurisdictions requiring proof of resolution before an image can be submitted for evidence.
For video compression, the Network Camera transmits multiple streams in H.264 and MJPEG video formats at either full frame rates or individually optimized for different quality needs and bandwidth constraints. The camera's flat chassis design helps it maintain a low profile appearance and blends in with the surrounding environment, thereby, reducing your customers' unease about being under surveillance.
The M3114-R Camera is designed for quick installation. The included lens tool helps you achieve the desired viewing direction. Additionally, if you required a lens with a different angle of view, the lens tool can be used to exchange and focus the new lens. The Network Camera is compatible with PoE, which allows it to receive power directly from its network interface, allowing it to be installed most anywhere in your home and not only near a power supply.
