Ematic eGlide Pro-X 9.7" Tablet Computer

The eGlide Pro-X 9.7" Tablet Computer by Ematic is a 9.7" capacitive touchscreen tablet that features a 1.2GHz ARM processor, 400 MHz dedicated GPU and IPS 1024 x 768 resolution display. It also features 1GB of DDR3 RAM, 8GB of internal Flash memory and the Android 4.0 ICS operating system.

The tablet is Wi-Fi ready, and features built-in 802.11 /b/g/n connectivity. It also includes an HDMI port for displaying your 1080p HD video on an HDMI-capable screen and a USB 2.0 port to connect external devices and sideload content. The 4:3 IPS (in-plane switching) screen delivers wider viewing angles, better image contrast and faster response time than non-IPS screens (the same IPS technology is used on Apple iPads). The tablet also contains a three-axis gyroscope and accelerometer for full 3D viewing, rotation and accelerated gaming.

Helping out with the graphics are the 1.2 GHz ARM processor, 1GB of DDR3 RAM and the dedicated 400MHz Mali GPU. The Android 4.0 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system also chips in - it's better at handling gaming, web-surfing and apps than previous Android protocols.

For input/output connections, the tablet sports a mini USB 2.0, mini HDMI and microSD card slot. The microSD card slot allows you to use optional (sold separately) SD memory cards that can add up to 32GB of extra storage per card to the 8GB of Flash memory already built into the tablet. Purchase of the unit also includes 5GB of cloud storage.

Other features include EDAN, the Ematic Digital Assistant and Navigator. Like Apple's Siri, the voice-to-text technology of the EDAN lets you search for movie times, write email and more just by the sound of your voice. You can also use the Kobo Reading app to turn the tablet into an eReader. Also included with the unit are front and rear cameras. The 2.0MP rear camera has a 1600 x 1200 resolution, while the front-facing .3MP camera has a 640 x 480 resolution.
