The DocuMate 3115 Portable Scanner puts the power of duplex scanning in a compact unit you can take anywhere. The scanner itself measures just 11.7 x 2.8 x 3.3" and weighs only 2.5 lb, small enough and light enough to keep in your bag. However, the scanner goes one step further and can be transformed into a desktop scanner with the optional docking station (not included). When docked, the 20-page ADF lets you scan 2-sided multi-page documents in 1 simple step. The scanner's 600 dpi resolution provides high quality scans that obviate the need to carry around all those papers until you get back home or to the office. Use one of the unit's 1-touch scan buttons to scan and save receipts, invoices, bills, and other documents. Once they're saved on your hard drive, you can use the included software to get the most out of your scans.
The software suite includes OCR software for converting scans into text you can edit and save in a word processor. Also included is document management software which provides document management as well as the ability to create searchable PDF files of your scans. The scanner uses 2 USB connections - 1 for power and 1 for data transfer so even when you're not near an outlet, you can still scan using your computer's battery.
