Good clamp I purchased to hang a light from an existing pole. Rubber pads inside the jaws, to protect and grip any surface. I put a drop of oil at each end of the threads. And spun the handle, back-and-forth a few times to smooth out the travel.

I have a small room that we use for interviews and on the right side and directly in the way is a square support column. This clamp is big enough to attach to the column and I add the Impact Heavy-Duty Swivel Pin so I can mount the Panasonic HC-V800 Full HD Camcorder. Great system in a limited space.

Has anyone used one of these to hold a 4x4 or 6x6 ScrimJim Cine?

I use them to hold 2x2meter and 3x3meter Lastolite Skylite Rapid scrims and they work marvellously. Better than a grip head in my opinion as you can get the jaw away from the top of the stand.

No, but I don't really think you need one since the surface of the clamp is big enough to not damage most surfaces, but I wouldn't recommend using it on glass, or plastic like surfaces.

You can use it on up to 3 1/2 pipe diameter. I use it on an I beam, and in that case you can go up to 7 1/2 (size if the bottom of the I). Hope this helps.
