Oben ACM-2400 Overview

The Oben ACM-2400 4-Section Aluminum Monopod w/ VH-R2 Tilt Monopod Head is a B&H Photo Kit which includes the ACM-2400 4-Section Aluminum Monopod and the VH-R2 Tilt Monopod Head.

The Oben ACM-2400 4-Section Aluminum Monopod is a lightweight yet extremely sturdy one-legged support for a camera, whether point & shoot, DSLR, or video camera.

The Oben VH-R2 Tilt Monopod Head is a compact head specifically designed for monopods. The tilt head has 180° one-axis movement, allowing you to position your camera for a 90° vertical format when using a monopod. Included is a 1/4-20"-3/8" reducer bushing, which makes this head compatible with either 1/4"-20 or 3/8" mounting threads.

Oben ACM-2400 4-Section Aluminum Monopod

The Oben ACM-2400 4-Section Aluminum Monopod is a lightweight yet extremely sturdy one-legged support for a camera, whether point & shoot, DSLR, or video camera. Maximum height is 63.2", which facilitates comfortable operation for most users.

At only 1.65 lb, this is quite a robust piece of gear: It bears up to 26.5 lb, so add just about any head, camera & lens combination that you want. The monopod's chunky rubber foot, foam grip, and wrist strap will conspire to keep your setup stable.

The flip locks of the ACM-2400 are adjustable, which means you can use the included Allen key to tighten them if they expand and loosen slightly due to normal wear & tear. You can also adjust the action of the locks to suit your operating preference. Leg stages descend easily and lock into place securely, so setup is a breeze. The ACM-2400 is composed of anodized aluminum to ensure its durability.

For fine control over camera orientation, attach a head to the monopod's reversible 3/8"-16 & 1/4"-20 mounting screw. Three set screws underneath the collar enable you to fasten the head securely to the plate. An Allen key is included & attached to the top leg section, so you're always ready to make adjustments.

The monopod collapses to just 21.3", so you can stow it in many carry-on bags. No matter how near or far you roam, the ACM-2400 is a great travel companion: relatively lightweight and compact, very simple to operate – but steadfast and ready in an instant to help you capture the perfect shot.

Reversible 1/4"-20 & 3/8"-16 screw for mounting any camera or head
Foam grip mitigates the effects of extreme temperatures and protects your camera by ensuring that your grip doesn't slip
For a second line of security and more stable shooting, wrap the attached strap snugly around your wrist
Wrist strap features belt clip for convenient hands-free carrying
Robust rubber foot

Oben ACM-2400 Reviews

Quality at a decent price

I like this monopod. It is solid, flexible (adapts to different size mounts) and functional. It is strong enough to support my Nikon D810 with attached 80-400mm telephoto lens and 1.4 teleconverter. Relatively lightweight. One reason I purchased it was because I also have an Oben tripod.

Poor Quality Screws on the Monopod

2 Allen Keys are provided as part of the Monopod to tighten / loosen the screws on the clamps that connect the 3 sections of the monopod. Unfortunately the screws are of poor quality and groove open up and you will not be able to tighten or loosen the screws anymore with the Allen key.

Worth the Investment

I found the stand to be very sturdy for Fuji xt4 and 400mm lens. It built to support the weight and not fold like a cheaper stand would. It is a bit heavier than you may think but for it to be stable and durable it will cost you weight.

Love it

Love this monopod

When I first opened the box and lifted it out it felt a little heavy but after using it is didn't even feel the weight. The pole is beefy enough that your can wrap your whole hand around it. I have a larger lens but this monopod holds it and I really don't feel like I need to worry about my camera and lense falling off. It collapses down to a very short length so it fits inside my backpack.. With the flip out tighteners it is a very simple set up and take down. It is tall enough that I don't need to crouch down to see through my viewfinder. I love this thing!

This is a solid, secure monopod. Bought this instead of an ACM-1400 because the tension of the locks is adjustable. It even looks strong enough that I can use it for a walking stick, which is nice at my 71-year age.

These work great and the price was right

These work for our student productions because they are compact and fit a cell phone (with adapter).

Noisy

Very solid. Decent adjustability. The legs are handy (remember, it's not a tripod) but when they are not in use are noisy. they rattle inside the tube of the monopod.

Is it possible to remove the legs from the bottom cap, or purchase a bottom cap without the legs?
Asked by: Doug
The legs are stored inside the monopod and that acts as the cap for the bottom when you are not using the legs. It is best described on page 7 of the user manual: https://bhpho.to/2waKRWW

What is the diameter of the bottom/smallest ...

What is the diameter of the bottom/smallest section? (for the ACM-2400 without the legs) Is it a bare round tube when the rubber tip is removed? Or is there a threaded insert like with the ACM-2400L? I'd like to use a spike foot and need the diameter to see if any of Manfrotto's will fit.
Asked by: Michael
The diameter is 1" and does not accept a spiked foot.

question

Does this fit Nikon cameras?
Asked by: Anonymous
Sure, it comes with a reversible 3/8 -16 & 1/4 -20 mounting screw. The 1/4 -20 screw is standard for all cameras including Nikon 35mm SLR and current DLSR models.

question

In the userguide of this product, I saw that it mentions about mouting HeadBall with this product. So does it come together with HeadBall or we must to buy separate one
Asked by: Anonymous
This monopod does not come with a ball head, and you will need to purchase one separately. I recommend the Oben VH-R2 Tilt Head for Monopods: http://bhpho.to/Iwakv7
