The Rycote ConnBox microphone cable connector boxes are designed to mount on the Rycote Suspension system. The ConnBox serves as a solution for 2 major problems associated with microphone shock isolation. Rigid microphone cables often deny true microphone isolation, weighing the microphone down and causing noise from movement and vibration to reach the microphone. Noise and rattling due to bulky cable connections can cause problems as well.

The ConnBox simply connects between the microphone and input device. Being that the ConnBox mounts to the Suspension system, the microphone cable is given the necessary slack needed to achieve true noise free isolation. This ConnBox features a hardwired 5-pin stereo XLR output cable and dual 3-pin XLR input connectors that are compatible with most M/S stereo paired microphone configurations.

Dual 3-Pin XLR Inputs
This ConnBox features a stereo 5-pin XLR output cable and dual 3-pin XLR input connectors compatible with most M/S stereo microphone configurations.
Stereo 5-Pin XLR Output
A hardwired 5-pin XLR output cable connects to stereo XLR microphone inputs. The ConnBox will pass phantom power to condenser microphones whenever necessary.
Mounts To Rycote Lyre Suspension Mount
This ConnBox mounts directly onto the Rycote Lyre Suspension Mount, relieving cable tension that can cause noise or damage.

ConnBox - Microphone Cable Connection Box for M/S Stereo Pairs is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A necessary accessory for stereo zeppelin setups Yeah, it may seem a little pricey. If you're good with a soldering iron you could probably make one at a lower price. I'm not, and I'm happy with my Connbox. Feeds very nicely through the bottom of the zeppelin and weaves through the pistol grip to terminate at the base for easy connection to a stereo cable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great with my Rycote Windjammer I was able to build a stereo recording system with this ConnBox, a pair of Oktava MK-012s, and two clips that let me stack the mics on top of each other. I load it all into a Rycote Windjammer that I normally use for my shotgun mic and swap in the Connbox. It makes a fat, wide recording and sounds great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it It fits great with my Rycote 080203 Stereo Windshield WS AE MS Kit. It minimizes wire clutter and handling noise. Win win.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job Not a whole to say about this except it gets the job done exactly as its supposed to. I use with an MKH 8040 Mid mic, which is well known for transducing extremely low frequencies, such as that of hand-held vibrations and movement. The connbox makes it effortless however, it nearly completely de-couples the mic from the shockmount and offers some of the best floating isolation you'll find. The fact that it is measured to fit a Rycote shockmount perfectly is an added plus. My only gripe, being this is a conboxx for M/S, is that the Mide and Side XLRs were not quite exactly the same length. Given the short distance, it has no bearing on the recording, but I'm a little surprised the cable run isn't identical for a recording medium which relies upon phase conherence. Aside from that oddity, the connbox works effectively for what it sets out to handle.
