HPRC 2700W overview

  • 1Description

The red 2700WF High-Performance Resin Case Hard Case with Cubed Foam from HPRC is a lightweight, waterproof, unbreakable case. It is also crush, acid and corrosion proof and meets ATA 300 specifications for transit cases. The case also meets IP67, STANAG 4280, DS 81-41 standards for vibration, temperature exposure and impact. The interior is a cubed foam that can be configured to accommodate whatever gear you need on a given day. Each piece of equipment can be securely nested within its own foam compartment.

The hard-resin shell is virtually unbreakable, and the interior rubber O-rings keep the case air and watertight. HPRC wheeled cases have a smooth low-profile backing that houses a high-strength aluminum telescoping handle. This efficient design translates into a clean finish on the back side of the case, while the use of aluminum delivers a stiff feel for complete control between the handle and case. The hardware is all stainless steel and bolstered by reinforced corners and hinges. The case also comes with smooth-gliding wheels, soft-grip handle for carrying and an air pressure release valve. The case is sealed with double hinged latches for a firm closure that will accept an optional TSA (Transportation Security Administration) approved lock.

The case can be used to carry anything but is targeted for transporting delicate, expensive and valuable audio, photo or video equipment and accessories. HPRC cases are used by the military, nautical, police and many other factions to protect their gear from dust, dirt, water, impact and corrosion. HPRC backs the case with its lifetime replacement warranty.

The rating of 6 indicates the highest level of protection - no ingress of dust, complete protection against contact. The second digit indicates the protection of equipment against harmful ingress of water. Rated 5 out of 5 by from I always travel with the products HPRC I'm a wery happy and lucky owner of HPRC 2550W, i'm a travel/sport photographer and i move around the world! The best case to carry photo equipment (and not only them, of course) it's a HPRC one!!! there is no doubt!!! Not so heavy, sturdy, practical, i can transport all my more delicate stuff, and even after a plane trip (we know how they treat our luggages) get everything perfect! Coupled with the TSA padlock, ensuring my equipment. I always travel with the products Plaber HPRC ... thanks stefano

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything you pay for and then some. I am a professional filmmaker who travels often with a lot of gear. This case is able to fit my 5D MKII, 4 Zeiss lenses (heavier than most L series) an additional zoom lens, as well as all of the camera's accessories without breaking 45 pounds. It is built like a nuclear bunker and I never think twice about checking it at the airport. I have used the Pelican equivalent to this case and travelling with that was a nightmare. This HPRC blows the pelican out of the water with lighter weight, smoother wheels, and an overall better build quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So how exactly do those cubes work? I just received this case and I love it. Many other reviewers have extolled this case's virtues, so I thought my post should be devoted to all the questions I had about this case before I got mine. So how exactly do the cubes work? All the walls of this case are padded. The usable interior space is approx 20 x 16.5 x 7. This space is filled with two sheets of cubes, each being 3.5 tall. Each cube is 4cm x 4cm on the surface and is 3.5 tall. Each cube (really a column) is lightly glued to the adjoining cubes, making it fairly easy to separate them, but no so easy that the cube-blanket falls appart. You can really do a lot with the cube-columns. I was even able to trim some and glue them back to the cube sheet to keep my lenses from moving around (probably not an issue). I spent many hours planning so that I didn't ruin the cube inserts. HPRC advises that you leave 1.5 (two cubes) between each item and I think they're spot on. If, like me, you're judicious (and full of fear), the planning and implementation could take 6 to 8 hours. My case is setup to hold: Zeiss ZF.2 50mm Makro Planar (top left) - spot for another lens - (top middle) Zeiss ZF.2 21mm (top middle) Zeiss ZF.2 100mm Makro Planar (top right) Nikon D7000 body (center left) 35mm DX Nikor (center middle) 15-55mm DX Nikor (center middle) Nikon D800E body (center right) Nikon SB-910 Speedlight (bottom left) A pit (4 x 6 x 7) for everything (bottom middle) Nikon SB-700 (bottom right)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impressed! I use this case for a basic lighting setup and camera. I was able to get two strobe heads, my canon 5d mark ii with a wide angle lens, 2 additional lenses, a magic clamp, light meter, extra battery, cf cards, some cords, and my battery charger in with a little room to spare. I did not expect to get so much in. For portraits I can carry this case and one for light stands. That's pretty awesome. It's a tough case, rolls really nicely, I love all the handles, and the latches work great. I really have nothing negative to say about it. It is heavy, but I'm rolling it 99% of the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow Great case I am using this product for my photography equipment. My camera and lenes got to be to heavy so with the wheels my assistant can pull this along with her and I have a nice area to switch lenes and get to my equipment easily. I like the cut foam insert I was able to get two large body cameras and lenses and my laptop inside.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Case Just bought this case and immediately packed it with an Elinchrom Ranger pack, two Ranger Quadra packs (no batteries) a couple of 8 reflectors, grids and five pocket Wizards for my first flight with lighting gear. A bit nerve wracking but everything did just fine. I wish the handle was flush with the case when collapsed, but not a big deal. I got the TSA lock as well and it seems like fine mental protection to add. The four latches and two handles are great and the shell seems bomber. The metal skid plate is also a nice touch. I would consider buying a second cubed foam insert for a different travel configuration. I set mine up to carry packs and batteries, only to realize that ALL batteries must be in your carry-on luggage. I was able to make it work by filling the battery voids with other stuff, but having an insert for air travel and one fo around town would be slick.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Carry it all in one case. I got tired of lugging around several different bags and sorting through them to make sure that I was carrying the right equioment when I went on a shoot. With the HPRC case, it's all in one place. With two SLRs, several lenses (including a couple of biggies), flashes and spare batteries/chargers, it's no lightweight but the thing is built like Fort Knox & can get banged around with no damage to the contents.
