APC BR24BPG Overview

The 24V External Battery Pack from APC consists of a unit of four 9Ah batteries that plugs into the rear panel of the 1500VA Back-UPS Pro model. The 1500VA Back-UPS comes with two standard 9Ah batteries. To triple the normal amount of runtime provided by a Pro unit, connect it to an RS Battery Pack. The battery recharges automatically through the unit's internal charger.

Works well with APC BR1500G

I was pleased with how easily this BR24BPG battery pack integrated with the BR1500G main unit. All that is needed ... is to just plug it in to the master unit. And I saw that the Estimated Run Time with the external unit plugged in was roughly triple the Run Time without the external battery. Make sure before you order the external battery unit that your main unit DOES have a socket marked External Battery Pack. I have seen photos of some BR1500G units that do not seem to have that socket.

This battery arrived quickly, had the best price I could find and installed with the connection of a single cord. Simple is good! Thanks B&H.

The description states this is "compatible with APC's 1500VA Back-UPS Pro models" however I have purchased the 'Back-UPS Pro BX1500M' which does not appear to have an input for this external battery, sound right?

You might get some information from a search for "16698-replacing-the-apc-bp24bpg-external-battery-with-870-2183-rbc-33-harness". Sorry - not allowed to give the link here. The connector is the same. APC P/N 870-2183 is a harness with this connector from the APC RBC33 battery pack.
