Avantone Pro CV-12 Reviews

Way too much noise in the signal

First off, I hope I just got a lemon. I purchased this mic 4 months ago based on it's great reviews. It sounded great for the first few hours then it came off the tracks. I coordinated with Avantone and sent it back for their repair. They replaced the tube and tightened a few things and sent it back a month later. Same issue. The amount of noise in the signal is ridiculous and makes it totally unusable (and yes, I warm it up for about 30 min before use and don't use phantom power). Again, I hope I'm just unlucky and others with have better luck--right now, this mic is just something that looks cool in the studio...a $700 conversation piece. I've contacted Avantone again--we'll see what happens.

Excellent VO mic for the price.

I use this mic for a variety of voice work in a mediocre studio environment. I've done pro voice work in pro studios using very high quality, expensive mics and for the price, this mic compares very well. My only complaint is that it is a bit difficult to get the mic mounted in the shock mount but, not a major issue.

You are not able to remove the tube of the CV-12 without some disassembly. Unfortunately we are not able to provide detailed instructions.

This is the second time, the mic is not working properly, I got really low volume signal. The first time it was fixed by itself after a few days but not this time, how can I use the warranty? This microphone was a birthday present and I don't have the invoice

Aventone microphones carry a five-year warranty when purchased new. Tel: (845) 642.3697 or [email protected] However, I would encourage you to give us a call as we may be able to help trouble shoot the mic, and determine whether or not it truly defective. 800-606-6969
