Kopul M5001 Overview

The Kopul Premier Quad Pro 5000 Series XLR M to XLR F Microphone Cable 1' is a studio- and broadcast-quality 4-conductor cable precision engineered for maximum rejection of RFI and electro-magnetic interference, extremely quiet performance, high flexibility and durability. Its twisted quad-conductor design features oxygen-free copper and allows for excellent conductivity, flexibility, low capacitance, and tensile strength.

This design affords the conductors a twist pitch length of only 0.7", reducing interference by assuring the minimum amount of the conductor is parallel to interference sources at any given section. The result is increased rejection of electro-magnetic and RFI noise, even in close proximity to the source. Cotton yarn is packed in to reduce friction between conductors and prevent unwanted electrostatic build-up and microphonic noise. The 99% braided TAC shield provides additional noise protection and corrosion resistance. Its Neutrik XX gold connectors provide high-quality, corrosion-free connectivity, and each solder point is individually shrink-wrapped for additional protection and to meet network broadcast facility standards.

Premier Quad Pro 5000 Series cables are ideal for use in the most demanding studio, touring, and broadcast applications.

Precision-engineered twisted quad-conductor design
0.7" pitch twist length for greater induced noise reduction
99% tinned copper braided shield for long-lasting protection against RFI and EMI
Ultra-low capacitance for accurate signal reproduction
Cotton yarn to reduce electrostatic and microphonic noise
Shrink-wrapped solder points for extra protection
Ideal for broadcast and audio professionals

I was happy to find an affordable 20' cable with impressive specs. Did an A/B test in my home studio with another (more expensive) 20 AWG, 20' cable with Neutrik connectors and could not detect any difference in signal clarity, level, or noise. Definitely will buy more of these if needed. Highly recommend!

FOR MUSIC

To know the quality of the 5000 Series cables by Kopul are not good enough for the court room is good enough for me. I don't want my audio production to be at the level of courtroom recordings anyway. I appreciate that tip because that helps me to know these will be excellent quality music cables for music and that's why I bought them; to connect microphones, to connect speakers to mixers, that sort of thing. Typical usage in an audio environment where the quality is of the utmost importance and matters of tangled cable are secondary.

Reduce noise
Asked by: Sam
No, microphone cables do not reduce noise. Better mic cables, like this one, will not add as much noise as lesser cables.

Will the work well from the receiver to the mixer ...

Will the work well from the receiver to the mixer board. I use a wireless microphone for sideline broadcast and it seem the receiver is too far away and the mic cuts out
Asked by: David
It should work depending upon the output of the wireless receiver.

question

Does it have 4 x 24 Gauge conductors or do the pairs of braids equal 2 x 24 gauge?
Asked by: Jeremy
I don't believe there is 21 AWG, but if there was, it would be approximately equal to 2 24 AWG conductors in terms of the total area of copper. The exact cross section area of the copper depends on whether the conductor is solid or stranded and if stranded, how many strands.
