    Midland LXT600VP3 reviews

    LXT600VP3 36-Channel 2-Way Radios (Black) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior quality for the price Just an excellent radio. Superb design with everything you need, and nothing you dont. The LXT600 is as good as it gets for radios costing under $$. Rugged looking, well built, without all the whacky colors that make inexpensive walkies look and feel like toys. This is a true radio that is as powerful as the ones costing 3 times as much. If you know anything about radio waves, dont be fooled by all the hype and advertising about distances. Radio waves have limitations, and these radios utilize them to the best of the consumer radio ability. I highly recommend these to anyone wanting a quality radio that doesnt break the bank. Midland has top notch customer service too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the size and price I do mostly wedding and other kind of social event where the need of been communicated is essential especially when we are not a sight distance, here is where these radios have been very helpful to my team and I. There are very reliable with almost never interference from other channel if that is the case the come with plenty of choices to change the frequencies to get a clear audio. I had the bigger version of these Midland radios with longer range but they were bulky and not very aesthetic, I saw a friend of mine carrying one of these smaller version and I thought they would lack of clarity but surprisingly they operated as good as the bigger ones with out no problem even we are able to use the same channels to be in touch while we are working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Little Radios I'm not sure why anyone would complain about the size. Small enough to fit in a pocket but big enough to feel right in your hand. Even with a high level of obstruction these are good for a mile or two. Add some elevation and three miles easy. Haven't had a chance to test range on open ground but I'm guessing it would be pretty good. My only complaint is that you have to dig to find the FCC requirement to use GMRS on high power. The radios are inexpensive but the the FCC license is $ for a license that is good for 5 years. I went ahead and got it for peace of mind though most don't. That said, they work great at high power. I also love the drop in charger, they're always ready to use.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible. Purchased these for a canoe trip. Long story short. Our group split up to look for campsites. Were within a mile of each other but these plastic pieces of garbage failed to be in range and we were unable to communicate, leaving the group spread out and unable to communicate. It could have turned into a very dangerous situation, luckily once we realized they weren't working we all paddled back to the point of last contact. These might be okay for playing aorund the yard or something where you're a couple hundred of feet away from one another, but please do not rely on them in a wilderness setting.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't be fooled like I was. My 20 year old 2 watt Cobra's run circles around these. The features that you really care about like distance and battery life and clarity have been sacrificed to make these more compact. I had to call Midland to find out that these are only 2 watts which means you'll be lucky to ever get 5 miles out of them on a perfect day in outer space, not the 30 miles they are hyping. They have half the battery life of my old Cobra's. A smaller speaker means a smaller, tinnier sound. You have to buy another AC adapter if you want to charge it using the Mic/Chg jack. I tested it on 10/25 at 100 yds and got background fuzz and static which I never had with the Cobra. These are a huge disappointment. After 20 years of development I expected better, not worse. They are cheap but as usual, you get what you pay for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Big but very powerful The radio works very well even in the city, covering distances that other similar radios don't. The weak point is its size, too big to be put on the waist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Communication is paramount I bought these little suckers so I could communicate with a second shooter or assistant when working large events, or shoots that require a pair of eyes where I am not... Well made, lightweight, small, and allows one to use surveillance so communication is that much more discreet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price and compact Only had an opportunity to use this once so far but great product. With the addition of the AVP-H3 Transparent Behind-the-Ear Microphone (Pair) by Midland, it made using the product that much easier. While on a photo shoot with other photographers it allowed all to communicate while still working. Great product, great range, great battery life & light weight.
