Ruggard 25 overview

  • 1Description

The Hunter 25 DSLR Holster Bag from Ruggard is slightly larger than the Hunter 15 and holds your DSLR with lens attached, face down, in shooting position. When you're ready to shoot, simply remove your camera, get the shot and replace your camera in the bag. The zippered top of the bag opens away from your body for fast access to your gear. This also serves as a security feature since no one but you will be able to see inside the bag.

The bag has a water-repellent exterior and smooth polyester lining that helps prevent scratches to the finish of your camera/lens combo. Inside, there are two removable touch fastened strips that can be configured to support your gear.

For storage, there is a front zippered organizer panel, mesh side pocket and two side loops that accept optional pouches. On the inside of the quick-release flap, there are two touch fastened memory card pockets. The bag is carried by its removable shoulder strap, top carry handle or belt loop that will leave you hands free. The zippers have yellow pull tabs that make the bag easy to use while you're wearing gloves.

    Ruggard 25 reviews

Hunter 25 DSLR Holster Bag is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 211.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed! I use this with my Fujifilm X-T20 with a 23mm Fuji lens and it fits perfectly. There is a little spare room at the top of the main compartment to place my camera strap as well as a tiny space at the bottom of the main compartment that I can keep the camera body-cap and back lens-cap. I was not looking for a walk around camera bag (I usually just take my camera out with me on sessions) but rather a nice protective low profile bag that I can store my camera in and maybe tuck into my carry-on while traveling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit This came bundled with a Fujinon X-Pro1 and is a perfect fit with the 18-55 lens even with the hood attached. I just got back from a couple of places overseas where you are advised to watch your wallet, purse and/or camera. I put the wide strap across my body and slipped the camera in and out with no worries. I never even put the strap on the camera. As the case opens toward you it is very secure. There is a zippered pocket for spare memory cards and a polarized filter. I also found that with a couple of clips I could secure the case to my big camera bag. Ok, only concern: where do I put the 14mm lens I want next?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from quality product I'm only giving this a two star because of the SIZE. It was a recommended accessory when I purchased the Nikon Coolpix P900 This SIZE almost held the camera. I had to struggle to zip it closed. There wasn't even room to poke my iPhone 6 in the mesh pocket outside the case That being said, I've ordered the next size up because it's a sturdy, quality case, with pockets for cards, batteries, credit card, phone and even a tube of lipstick.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Did not fit NIkon Coolpix P 900 as advertised Camera simply did not fit with only the UV filter on it, or the lens cover. Returned. Nice bag but not for the camera I purchased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! I took my dslr on a road trip to the grand canyon, and i was kind of worried because it gets up to over 130F down there, but this bag kept it nice and safe. It has lots of cushion which is good cause theres a lot of rough handling on a road trip, and i cant always be super careful, especially when im climbing. the extra pockets are really great too, i just kept the lens cap in there when i wasnt using it. While the padding is great and really necessary, it's unfortunate that it makes the case so bulky and kind of heavy. My camera is already pretty heavy, and when im hiking, it really makes a difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protected my Nikon DSLR from a mountain side fall! I've been carrying my Nikon D90 in this case on my hikes as it's lightweight and not bulky, has little pockets for memory cards, my keys, cell phone. I can carry it on my shoulder, across my body, or around my waist comfortably. Yesterday, during a hike, I sat at a lookout point, took some pictures, put my camera back in the case and zipped it closed and sat to enjoy the view long enough to forget that I hadn't secured the case. I stood up, and down went my Ruggard case with my Nikon camera and lens, rolling, bouncing, and falling in slow motion down the side of the mountain. I wasn't gutsy enough to slide down, so I ran and slipped down a trail to try and catch up to it. Amazingly, the brother of a friend did slide down and managed to find it. Once we both made it back up, I opened the case, and was stunned to see that my camera survived the fall and still worked perfectly. I took pictures to celebrate!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mind the size on this great little Bag Now let me start by saying this is a great little bag. Dollar for dollar, I like the Tamrac holster bags better, but if you find yourself perusing the offerings from Ruggard, you could do a LOT worse than this little gem. I now have the Hunter 50 and this Hunter 25. Sorry, I have a lot of cameras, haha. But since all my cameras are medium to large DSLRs, size becomes a factor. This camera is best suited to a small to medium Nikon DSLR, like a D50 or a D40. A D100 or a D200 or a D700 is not going to make it.But size aside, this is a well-appointed bag, full of features. It will never be a shoulder bag, but there is ample room for cards and batteries. Your camera's body is supported by two velcro-adjustable sling straps, and aside from that, you are out of room for stuff. But its a HOLSTER bag after all. Wyatt Earp didn't stash his sunscreen in his holster, just his six-gun. So if you want to travel light, with little room left over for jostling, pick up this well made little bag for your small DSLR. If you have something bigger, reach for the Ruggard Hunter 50 or the Tamrac 515 holster bag. It offers less PROTECTION, but I like it's accommodations better for long lenses. You can't go wrong with either brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag, a little small for Nikon P900 I bought this bag to go with a new Nikon P900 because it came up as a recommended accessory and my old bag was too small for the new camera. It is a great bag, but the main pocket is a little tight for the camera. It has a nice side pocket for batteries and inside pockets for memory cards.
