The native API Collection from Waves is a collection of 4 plug-ins modeled on vintage analog API gear. It includes the API 550A and 550B 3- and 4-Band Equalizers, the API 560 10-Band Graphic EQ, and the API 2500 Stereo Compressor. All support RTAS, Audio Suite, AU, and VST plug-in formats on Mac and PC
Please note this collection is an electronic download.
The API 550A/B Native from Waves comes with plug-in models of two classic API equalization modules.
The API 550A plug-in is modeled on the late 60's legendary hardware. The software provides reciprocal equalization at fifteen points, in five steps of boost, divided into three overlapping ranges. A band-pass filter can be inserted independently of all other settings.
The API 550B features four overlapped EQ bands. It features 7 switchable filter frequencies spanning up to 5 octaves per band. It even lets you undo previous processing, affect, or even reverse tonal modifications.
Together, the API 550A/B equalizers add a wide array of classic tonal options to your production toolbox.
The filter bandwidth automatically widens at minimal settings and narrows it at higher settings

The API 560 Native from Waves is a plug-in based on the classic hardware EQ module from API. Modeled on the late 60's legend, the software provides 10-bands of graphic EQ featuring precision filtering and high headroom, ideal for signal enhancement and room tuning.
The original's "Proportional Q" design intuitively widens the filter bandwidth at lower boost/cut levels and narrows it at higher settings. And since boost and cut characteristics are identical, previous actions can be easily undone.
- Per Band Gain - -12 dB to +12 dB
- Band Frequency - 31, 63, 125, 250, 500 Hz, 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16 kHz
- EQ In - on/off
- VU Meters - -30 dB to 0 dB with clip indicator
- Analog - on/off
- Phase Polarity Reverse - on/off
- Output Gain - -18 dB to +18 dB
- Trim - output gain adjustment
The API 2500 Native from Waves is a dynamics plug-in that features the classic punch of API hardware, while allowing for shaping the tone of mixes with absolute accuracy. Its dual channel design lets it function as two separate mono channels via a single compression setting.
Its auto-makeup gain function provides the ability to adjust threshold or ratio while automatically maintaining a constant output level. With a choice of an old style "feed back", or the new style "feed forward" compression types, the software delivers a wide range of very musical parameters, making it a favorite of engineers everywhere.
- Threshold - -20 dBu to +10 dBu
- Attack - 0.03, 0.10, 0.30, 1, 3, 10, 30 ms
- Ratio - 5:1, 2:1, 3:1, 4:1, 6:1, 10:1, infinity:1
- Release - 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1.0, 2.0 s and variable release mode
- Variable Release - 50 ms to 3 s
